New FL Fantasy 5 Promotion
Anyone see the new promotion for EZ Match on the Fantasy 5? There will be an increase from a $500 instant prize to $1,000. There is also going to be more of the $100 prizes. This is a 4 week promo. Haven't heard any other info about it. Feb and March are the busiest months for tourism in Florida - Snowbird Season. (there's actually a song if it's snowbird season, why can't we shoot 'em?) Edit: Okay, maybe I'm not using my brain right today. The odds shown for the top EZ Match prize on

what are the odds?
You're welcome. You can always find the odds by dividing the total number of combinations by the total number of different tickets you've purchased. So if you bought 10 different tickets for this game, divide 324,632 (total number) by 10 (number you purchased) to get the odds that you will win the jackpot. There is a 1 in 32,463 chance that you will hit 5/5 if you purchase 10 distinct tickets. Buy 500 tickets? 1 in 649 chance that you'll be holding a 5/5 winner.

Computer VS Gravity
Let's see if I can say this right, it might be tough; They say the odds of picking a winner are 1 in 146 million, we just went 16 drawings until a winner was hit, so 'in theory' the odds that just hit were 1 in 2.336 BILLION, right ? I know that's assuming you sold 146 million different tickets every drawing - which obviously did not happen, but let's say they sold 73 million different combos every drawing, that's still 1 in 1.168 BILLION, how much more random do you want ? I'

Duplicate Quick Picks?
I always figured this was the answer, since it's the same for state games, at least here in Florida, although rarely do 2 people ever win the Florida Lotto jackpot. Most of the year there is only a single winner. Makes one realize how difficult it is to win when so many tickets are being bought and the jackpot keeps rolling. Fantasy 5 often has multiple winners who bought quickpicks, but the odds of winning are only 1 in 377,000, plus it's played daily. Occasionally the FL MegaMoney game (4

Duplicate Quick Picks?
Interesting question on quick picks from the Missouri lottery: Question: If I buy a Quick Pick ticket, can anyone else buy those numbers using Quick Pick? Answer: QUICK PICK Yes. Quick Pick tickets are generated randomly by the terminal at the retailer, and there is no central computer that is controlling ticket generation. The odds of buying a Powerball ticket with the same numbers as someone else are the same as th

The lotto is IMPOSSIBLE to win
We all understand your point of view, and your opinion. But what exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Are you trying to convince 50,000 LP members that you're right? Trying to abolish all lotteries? Maybe you're a cult, like David Koresh. Opinions are like you know what, and no one really cares about yours. You have yours and the members here have ours. Don't spoil our hobby and our fun. You can be anti-lottery if you want. But the odds here are 50,000:1. Your odds don't lo

The lotto is IMPOSSIBLE to win
So you are saying that my example what is shown is possible? And if so what would be the odds? I am not saying you are a math wizard but do you or anyone else know what the odds would be? of the pattern repeating itself as shown. Are you saying that my above example is or is not RANDOM? Did the lottery balls just happen to come out of the machine as such or what it by design?

New lawsuit claims Indiana Lottery did not award all prizes
Lotteries don't want people to win big by spending a lot of money because then people with less won't play and there are more of them. Years ago when the Virgina lottery was won by an investment group that tried to buy every combinations when the jackpot cash amount exceeded the odds of winning they changed the rules for buying tickets so that could never happen again. Recently Ohio Cash5 had a cash jackpot of nearly $900K with odds of 1:575K of being won, but no one tried to buy all the com
