The "Holy Grail"
I would have to agree with DC. Here's my logic and thoughts on random and odds. A short story but true. Using real names too lol joe tells me yesterday he will never win the jackpot and the odds are in the millions. I said ya know Joe, your right and if you keep telling yourself that it becomes your reality Joe says your always lucky i couldn't agree with a Joe more. Do I win often? You betcha. My odds are 50/50. When I buy a ticket I'm going to win or lose. It's as simple as that. Once y

The "Holy Grail"
I'm curious as to why people keep approaching choosing a consistent strategy from the perspective of what the Odds are, and what the number pool is from which a winning number could be drawn ??? In my opinion, it doesn't really matter what the Odds are !!! Worrying about the Odds creates a psychological barrier to winning !!! Likewise, if you focus on the belief that the lottery is random, coupled with the belief that there is a large pool of numbers for both Pick 3 Pick 4 from which the

All or Nothing - (why do I only hit 5,6,7?)
I looked at jackpot games played in Ohio and based on their odds and payouts and calculated what one could expect to win if they spent a $100. GAME JACKPOT ODDS OVERALL ODDS EXPECTED WINNINGS Classic Lotto(6/49) 1:13,983,816 1:53.6 2 wins for $4 Rolling Cash5(5/39) 1:575,575 1:8.7 11 wins for $20 Lucky for Life(5/48+1/18) 1:30,821,472 1:7.7 6 wins for $23 MegaMillions(5/75+1/15) 1:258,890,850 1:14.7 7 wins for $9 PowerBall(5/69+1/26) 1:292,201,338 1:24.8 2 wins for $8 While

Are you ever embarrassed that you're not a winner yet?
I doubt embarrassment is the right term for this, rather I feel ashamed for how states manipulate the lottery systems. As they well know that patterns in life do truly exist and will find whatever its possible to make a game odds ten times harder than it already is. If not read about the Lagrangian Mechanics . I recently learned in my statistics class that out of 10,000 men of about 30 years old only 0.9986 will survive and the .14 remaining will die (information gathered from US. department

Neural Net Lottery Picker
Of course, nothing wrong with it and I really appreciate the efforts and work put in it by stoopendaal and the fact he has shared it with us. It's to be expected that NN will not beat the lottery odds as we would like it to be. It would be nice to see it however. It's a smart funny way to play lotteries. Some people may hit a nice prize from time to time, but the same thing might be said about the random.org number generator which is said to be pretty good as they can only be. The odds

Who plays more, who loses more?
Thanks, Edessa. Stack47, You share Statistics say a 75 ticket QP MM player should have five winning tickets and the SP player one or two. The winners should be two $2 and the rest $1. It's possible 1 QP or 50 SP tickets could win $500, but the odds against one ticket winning $500 are 52,835 to 1. There are lots of Pick-5 wheels $50 and under self pick players can choose from where the odds against are the odds of them matching enough numbers. That's the statistics, yeah, but

Georgia Lottery Scratch Offs
I tried Lady Luck once, and lost, but may try it again in the future. I haven't played in about 2 weeks. Been sticking to Keno and Cash 3, and been not having too much luck except for a few Keno wins. Just checked the website and saw new tickets were posted. On a monday? Either they did a rare Monday release or they were posted on the site a day early. Let's take a look at these.... $1 Summer Cash 1 in 4.65- Its a $1 ticket next lol $2 Lucky Dog/Fat Cat 1 in 3.70- Never seen GA co

If You Live Long Enough ... Good Chance You Will Win !
Hi RJOH ... I hope you and others are not taking these posts too serious ... odds are odds and 'years are years and if ever the two should meet, it still means most people will die broke in lottery terms . There will be a few lucky ducks ... there always are, but most will be lucky to win only some chump change in their lifetime !!! Now as to the 6/49 game ... what you say is true, except for PA ... the PA 6/49 game is the easiest 6/49 game to hit of all the various 6/49 games. There's pos

New York instant scratch off tickets - new tickets with less odds to win
Until recently the $5.00 tickets had six numbers and twelve chances to win. Now it's five numbers and twelve chances to win. The $10.00 tickets had ten numbers and fifteen chances to win. That still hasn't changed but no doubt in the near future it will, as a new $20.00 ticket has come out with NINE numbers instead of ten. Last night bought two $20.00 tickets, 001 - 002. Losers. Went back and bought two more, 003 - 004. Losers. Went back and bought two more, 005 - 006. 005 was a loser.

If You Live Long Enough ... Good Chance You Will Win !
I stumbled across a site dealing with actual odds of winning a lottery game. Since I am attracted to a 6/49 game with the better odds ... I found this depressing question dealing with a 6/49 game ... I can only imagine the answer for the PB and MM. I have been playing lotteries and sweepstakes now for two months straight. Will I ever hit a jackpot? And when? The short answer is no, you will never win. The odds of winning the usual 6/49 lottery are 1 in 13,983,816. You would have to pla
