A dollar and a dream true for PB and MM?
So if we take the 146 / 5 (to make the numbers simple)
and do the /5 13 more times the odds are zero according to you guys. so why has nobody here won it then, that being the case?
$70 , reduce the odds to zero, and you have a lock.
146/5 = 29.2
so
29.2 /5 = 5.84 (five more tickets), etc...
and so on until you have done this 14 times and the odds are zero .
I'm still not buying it.
Sounds very much like something Custer said about his strategy for going into The Li

Ohio's 0-2-3
Your logic is flawed. You can not assume that previous number results will impact future drawings.
In this discussion past results are not being used to predict when 023 will be drawn. Had I said in 1985 that 023 would be drawn in the next 1000 draws, there would be about a 63% chance of me being correct whether I based my prediction on past results or not. So if somebody told me that 023 hadn't hit in the past 2000 draws it might be worth a how about that .
But this discussion is abo

Indiana Lottery (Hoosier Lotto)
Unless a state is running some type of a promotion, hitting a Pick-3 straight pays $500 but we have to overcome odds of 1000 to 1 to win that. Every state website I've read shows the payoffs and those odds so they are not hiding the fact they have a 50% edge. On the Power Ball site the odds of winning $100 is around 12,000 to 1 so the house edge can get even higher.
State lottery sites have links to their financial reports; for instance in the fiscal year 2006, Ohio had ticket sales of $2

jackpot games vs. the numbers games
True, however, that is not the issue I was focusing on.
The odds are the reality. Mike asked a question, and I gave my interpretation of what the differences were from both game types.
We all know it takes a lot of people to fund the JP. The mere fact that is constantly bombarded to me by mis-guided people, telling me that someone wins most of the time is not enough to make me say...OH! okay !, I guess I'll just plunk down another 5 bucks because, afterall someone does win. You have to l

Do You Tip Your Lottery Clerk?
There's one clerk who won't get a tip unless he wises up a little...lol.
I just stopped at the liquor store where I get my tickets just about everyday. The clerk is a very nice gentlemen who lost his vocal chords and uses one of those devices that one puts by his throat to speak.
Anyway, I've shopped there for almost 3 years now, and we've had many many discussions about the lottery and other things. But today was very different. As I was leaving, somehow the discussion about the odds came

numbers don't lie
I don't know where he was going either, but both of our examples are good ways to show that while numbers don't lie, what we do with them may be misleading to some, or at least counter-intuitive. Just because some people are fooled doesn't mean that there is any intent to deceive.By choosing to reduce each group of 10 by 3, you chose the pattern that resulted in the highest number of combinations. By reducing only 1 group of 10 by all 9, I chose the one with the fewest combinations. I don't kno

Everytime?
Yes you can win every time but not at a profit, by playing all the possible minimum winning combinations that pay. For most pick3 and pick4 game this means playing the minimum combinations to cover all the possible box hits and for a pick3 game that's 230 lines. Games like MegaMillions, PowerBall, pick6 and pick5 pay something if you have only 1-3 of the winning numbers.
Games like MegaMillions and PowerBall will pay $2-$3 if you only have the bonus ball and you can cover all of them in 42

Now that you've got 100,000 consecutive rolls to look at, did you ever get four 6's in a row? The odds for 4 in a row are 1 in 1296 (1 in 36 * 36 * 36 * 36), so you should have gotten 4 in a row a bunch of times, even though that's less likely than two in a row. It won't happen as often, but each time it happens the odds that it will happen again stay the same, right?
True, that's the odds of getting four in a row, but nobody knows when those four will show. Casinos get r
