It doesn't play right, does it? I think the repeats defy statistical odds and the dispersion is less than expected. It would be curious to compare to the ball machines that were used in the early beginnings of the games.

Lottery Keno Games
Hello;
We have the 10/70 game here in Ontario, Canada which imo is just as hard to win as the 10/80 games and I've seen several threads here in forums on lottery posts alluding to what you've mentioned in your posted remarks.
As a general rule, and since the odds of exact hits are so elusive, any pick category above 5/70 i tend to avoid. Mainly, because of the crazy odds to get all numbers chosen for anything above the 5/70 matrix. At least with the 5/70 category getting 4/5 is not a bad

Lottery Keno Games
The 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10-spots obviously pay much more for matching all the numbers, but the odds against matching all the numbers is much greater too. Many playing strategies consist of breaking down the large amount of numbers into smaller 4 or 5 number spots. It's similar to lottery players using abbreviated wheels. They look for portions of the board when numbers are clustered together and play that area of the board.

Three tickets bought at same store share the same $8.3 million New York Lotto jackpot
two plays for $1.
That you get to pick 2 sets of numbers doesn't change the odds. It's still just one chance with odds of 1 in 22 million for $1.
I would say that all three tickets were purchased by the same one person.
What's certain is that it wasn't 3 unrelated purchases. Based on the chances of splitting the prize it makes far more sense to get 3 chances by playing different combinations. The only sensible reason I see for playing the same combination would be to simplify the sp

Record number of winning tickets sold in single Washington Lottery Match 4 drawing
Just looked up the specs on this game. 4/24 matrix, odds 1 in 10600, top prize of $10,000. I would love a game like this in Florida, I'd be playin' that suckah all day long. Meaning, of course, zero chance of that happening !

Audit of frequent Pennsylvania Lottery winners draws concern
Often you read stories here about lucky people who win jackpots 2-3 times.People play low odds games pick3 pick4,with multiple tickets. They want to cash anonymously. The taxes are being paid. So why this extra scrutiny???

Is it just me or have Winnings practically stopped across the boards?
I agree the odds are stacked against you. I have just in the last week started to ask other players at the lottery machine as I come and go if thy have noticed a downturn in winnings and almost to a person, they all look kinda surprised and say yeah I thought it was just me...

Is the lottery rigged?
I believe it rigged, especially since everything is done by computer (despite what we've been told) my theory is that I pick 1234 the system then realize that too many people have picked that number 1234 and then change it to something that will payout less money like 0123 . The consumer would never know since there is a cut off as to what time you can put in your numbers, more then enough time to estimate odds and winnings. That's just my take on it!!!

world record
Yeah, that 575 is something. But there was bound to be one that long when you consider the entire history. I have a question. You seem like someone who would be able to answer this accurately. In your estimation as far as odds and probability, when considering the back end pair (or front end for that matter) of a 3-digit number, would you say that it acts EXACTLY the same as if there were a 2-digit drawing?

That s very interesting. In your estimation as far as odds and probability, would you say that the back end pair of a 3-digit number acts EXACTLY the same as if there were a 2-digit drawing?
