Whats more likely? The lottery spends resources stalking an odd chap from Georgia who loses more than he wins and is not particularly good at math, or the lottery spends no resources stalking anyone because they generate plenty of revenue from the bad odds?

When I get the itch to scratch (get it? LOL), I always check how many top prizes are left, the overall odds on the ticket, and the guaranteed prize amounts in a pack (ie: $500 pack, for me it has to have guaranteed at least $250 prizes in a pack). My biggest problem with scratchers in Texas is the state is huge. If a game only has 4 top prizes, there's a lot of real estate for those top prizes to be in. So, I usually just stick with draw games.

Why would anyone spend an extra buck to try and win 10 million with the same (1/292,000,000) odds as the big jackpot? The lotteries preach responsible gambling ( no such thing) and then call us all fools in the same breath.
