341 combo is on my radar, Its defying the odds of being out over a year (July 7th 2020) . 289 is another one that is out 1 year exact (july 24th 2020), jimmy decides to be cute and throw 710 ( 999 - 710 = 289).

I remember way back when it was a nice jackpot . As the years went by the jackpot got less and less. Less people starting to play. You're better off playing pick 3 or pick 4 with better odds.

I second that emotion, I mean motion. Any odds adjustment with still be mighty long. They meet in their boardrooms and say we are killing it, but how can we get more money out of these chumps? Yet, if one day, if i see my family's birthdays all lined up for the jackpot and I did not play, the police better have somebody that will be very good at talking me back off the roof ( just kidding...)

In my state you are not required to fill out a tax form on a $500 win. If someone happens to get lucky and load up on a particular 3-digit number, they still would not be forced to pay taxes on the prizes since they would simply cash in the tickets one at a time at their local supermarkets. BTW .....I love the way you figured those odds, that's very interesting.

Back in the day (10-12 years ago) I kept track of each number as to how many times it was drawn in each position. For example, obviously #1 was only in first position. I recall #14 was a number that was drawn a lot, and if memory serves me it seemed to play mostly in the 2nd position. (I don't have those charts anymore). It takes a leap of faith. The astronomical odds mean nothing to those that believe they could win. I would wager that there must have been many people who dissuaded Columbus to take on the expeditions he looked forward to. Sometimes, you just have to go for it.

I understand your logic about buying a ticket as the jackpot no matter the size would be fine with 99% of us but once you factor in the ridiculous odds it doesn't make sense to many as there are many other draw games that offer prizes similar to second offered in both MM and PB.
