Lottery Machine Mystery
I stood there watching the guy print the ticket. He did not give me a different ticket than the one that came out of the machine. And remember, I did give him my playslip. The odds would be incredible that a quick pick or someone else's mistake was a different number ending in a 9. I picked 69, the number I wound up with instead was 19.

Massachusetts husband, wife are both $1 million lottery winners
Yes, what a coincidence they are from MA, a state with an odds-defying number of repeat scratch off winners. So many repeat winners, in fact, that the state enacted a policy to start investigating repeat winners to root out fraud. Nothing fishy here at all, I'm sure.

Do You Know Anyone Who's Ever Won the Jackpot?
Considering that there are only 10-12 MM and PB jackpot winners each year, the odds of any of us personally knowing a winner are pretty slim. Somebody won a major jackpot about 25 miles from where I reside and I never heard of them.

Best time to get Mega Millons QP?
When you realize that the entire population of the United States is over 323 million and the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are one in 303 million, it is a mystery why anyone would buy a lottery ticket for this game and have any expectation of winning the jackpot.

Lottery-scamming brothers avoid asset seizures by transferring property to their mother
It's not directly related, but I've wondered if what a lot of us have been doing on here for decades wouldn't be illegal if we were successful and if the lottery authorities knew. Systems to win against casinos on a blackjack table are definitely illegal to use in some states and will get you banned from casinos everywhere if you get caught using them. They call it 'cheating' if you figure out a way to improve your odds against the house. But the Lottery Systems forum, the Math Forum, even

UK Lottery refuses to pay out £4 million win on suspicions ticket was bought with stolen bank card
In the UK you can bet on anything, and since this story has received a lot of coverage in the UK I'm sure there are bookmakers taking bets right now on whether or not John is real and going to return from the Outer Hebrides to vindicate these two. I give it a million to one odds.

Post your scratch ticket results
I had a really bad run on the $30 ticket $2,000,000 Megabucks. Over a course of 3 days I killed the last 15 tickets on the roll. Out of them there were 3 wins: $30, $30 $50. That ticket's normally pretty solid as far as the odds go but I must have been pretty unlucky. I'm going to take a break for a while.

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Bought 2 last night. One lost and the other won $5. The $2 game(9 in a line) I bought 4 of that game after and they all lost. The $5, $2 and $1 scratcher have better odds than those terminal games. Thought they were worth a quick trial on first day though.
