Do you think Powerball will increase the odds of 1:292M to maybe 1:330M to keep up with MM and have higher jackpots? I think it is just around the corner myself. I like the idea of combining MM PB and have the drawings 3 times a week. It would create more excitement. Also, would like to see more $5M or $10M winners. Share the wealth man!

Yep, that would be true (or close enough, there are variables). If there are enough tickets sold that 80% of all numbers are likely chosen, then statistically there is a 1 in 5 chance of a roll. But those odds aren't favorable for a roll.

That was the only time to my knowledge when they sold more tickets (440 million) than possible combinations. There were several other times that ticket sales exceeded the number of possible combinations before the PB record jackpot. The MM drawing for the 3/30/12 record jackpot had sales of almost $652 million. That was when tickets were just a buck and there were a lot less than 302 million combinations. Do ya'll remember back when the Powerball was at $950M, and yet nobody hit the jackpot? It's pretty wild to think that it's still just a coin toss, even now, whether or not the numbers drawn will catch up to the odds.

Yea just saw they put the game #1407 and odds back on their website after taking it off this morning. Hopefully these tickets play better than the most recent new batch of games they've put out.

Did anyone see that Gold rush classic game was showing In the list of $20 games on the lottery site yesterday but is not there today? Did they delay the release of the ticket? It had odds for a $500 win was 1:153 which is better than the last 2 gold rush tickets.

It would be nice if they could figure out a way to build massive jackpots, but make the odds of winning the lower tier prizes better. I rarely even get the lowest prize, but it sure makes me happy when I do! lol

True... They've got to get people to buy tickets when the jackpots are small before they can grow into a beast like this one (these two, really.) The last I checked the entire population of the US is around 300M, so the odds are like picking one American out all Americans. It would be extremely lucky to be chosen, even out of a room with only 30 people, let alone out of an entire city or country! only if the jackpots got up this this high and higher.... 1 in 302.5 Million is bad enough. I have no idea what adding a 5 more MB's would create for an odds package

Indeed! I guess it's a fine line for them to tread: the longer the odds = larger jackpots = massive ticket sales... However, at some point it's so difficult to win that it wouldn't be worth it to play.
