More winners where the traffic is higher?
I think a more accurate answer to your question is that higher traffic places make more ticket sales. The scratch-offs are based on volume. If a location sells 500,000 tickets a year, the odds are greater that it will have a few big prizes vs a place that only sells 5,000 tickets a year. The odds don't change wherever you buy the tickets. Just think if you bought 100 scratch-offs, your odds of winning a bigger prize are better than if you only buy 10.

How many tickets do you need to win the Lottery?
You're correct, but only one MM winning ticket out of 10,720 will match 3 + 1 and those odds are slightly higher than the odds against any straight pick-4 number. It difficult enough beating those odds and when I do beat those odds, I want to play a game where I can collect more than $50.
How do plain on avoiding purchasing one of 10,719 losing tickets trying to win $49?

Mega Millons or Powerball or Uberball
Is buying a $2 ticket with odds of 1:5M of winning $1M a better deal than buying two $1 tickets with odds 1:9.2M of winning $1M?
But isn't that a fallacy? If my odds are 1:18mil with one ticket and 1:9mil with two tickets, wouldn't my odds then be 1:560 000 if I buy 32 tickets?

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
That's exactly what Kansas and one of the vendors said at Smart-Tech, that players who never win anything will eventually give up. What you're saying doesn't contradict my post. However, studies have shown that lottery players do not distinguish between odds of 100 million or odds of 200 million when it comes to mega jackpot games. It is all a longshot and the media constantly reminds them of how they will never win. But their eyes are only on the prize. Have players stopped playing Mega Million

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
The reality is that they can't offer significant lower tier prizes with decent odds of winning and still generate huge jackpots in a reasonable amount of time.
Correct, which is why they are not improving the prize value of the lower prizes but merely improving the odds of winning them...without harming the amount of sales or capacity for size available for large jackpots. I actually think the fact that the rumored revised matrix has worse jackpot odds yet better overall odds than what was
