Here is a quick estimate I use to calculate the odds for matching so many numbers in a random game.
In this example lets use mega millions 5-75. If we divide 75 by 5 we get 15 so for every 15 numbers
we pick we can expect to get one correct. It's possible to hit none of the winning numbers but it's also
possible to trap all 5 in a list of 15. Now let's look at the 5-39, 39/5=7.8 so for every 7.8 numbers I choose
I can expect to get 1 number correct. 7.8 * 4 = 31.2 so on average if I

Say it ain't so Todd...Power Play is looking SKEWED !!
I just noticed that too. Weird coincidence. Now if they have a winner(s) you think it will then trigger a 4 or 5 powerplay. I don't have any intentions of playing powerplay not great odds at all. I also like the 21 and 50 in one of these drawings.

If we do see another PB billion jackpot.
Well, the presidential race had nothing to do with it, and it doesn't now. It kept rolling, and it keeps rolling now because no one has picked the winning numbers, and the odds are 1 in 292,201,338. That is a hellacious number.

Florida Holiday Millionaire Raffle 2016
I have trouble with the odds for these raffles as they advertise them.
In Pennsylvania, they sell a max of 500,000 tickets, and there are four one million dollar winners. So that means the odds are mathematically equivalent to 125,000 to 1.
BUT! After they draw the first winner, that means there are 499,999 ticket numbers remaining in the pool of ticket numbers that can win a million dollars. (assuming all 500,000 tickets are sold, which lately is NOT the case) So to me, that means my tick

If you could
Colorado does the same thing and it's 5th on the list. Really does stink. You win 5 times on a 5 dollar ticket, and they are 1 dollar winners. Never scratched tickets anywhere else, so I'd probably buy them from somewhere else if they have better odds.

Scratcher Tickets Poll
New games historically offer worse odds than their predecessors. And the winning numbers on any particular ticket seem to dwindle. Used to be six winning numbers on a $5 ticket, now it's mostly four numbers. Used to be ten winning numbers on a $10 ticket, now it 6 or 8. Etc, etc.

Scratcher Tickets Poll
The new games don't always offer better odds. There are always jackpot tickets left at the end of the game. So that tells you something also. I would never buy a game that offers only 1 $40 ticket for each pack, as oppose to a game that offers 1 $40 ticket and 1 $50 ticket as well for each pack.

Either way, I think the smaller stores seem to have higher odds of having winners. Never seem to get any decent winners at the big chain stores.

British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
That is most likely why Virginia went Democrat. Halfway through the Republicans had a substantial lead prior to northern Virginia's voting coming in. The governor of VA is a close pal of Clinton and did all he could to alter the odds in her favor.
