Powerball Odds and Buying Lots of Tickets Often Doesn't Pay.Reply
I know part of me sees people spending $500, $1,000 or more and I kind of wish I had the money to do that but then I realize in the end even that amount of won't make a dent in the odds so I feel ok with only buying a few tickets.

A year ago I would have agreed with that statement, but with the combination of PB having a lower handle then MM cause of $2 bet and the now higher odds, I'd say there's a better chance for it rolling on then hitting the billion dollar mark on Sat.

Yeah if nobody hits it Wednesday night then yeah it will start at $600M for the Saturday drawing but ticket sales will shoot up substantially because everybody will be talking about how the PB has NEVER been that high before (previous being the $590.5M win) so a lot of people who would normally sit out or have given up as a result of the newer, higher odds will jump in just because everybody they know is jumping in also. I mean, of course it can be hit at any time provided at least one ticket is sold, but seeing how even the highest jackpots reached rolled after this level at easier odds I agree that this could possibly keep rolling for another 4 weeks like the JP right around the matrix change, as you mentioned.

I've totally lost any interest in playing with the ridiculous increase in odds. Not that I was winning anything more than a few bucks when I picked my own numbers (not every time although often enough it was fun) but I could pretend that all my crazy number logic could possibly fall in to place at the right time....Now I feel my notebook is useless until this new version of the game plays out for awhile and I start over. No digit 3 tonite Chris.. come on Pa it's 25 draws on nitetime and still no digit 3.. they must have taken them out of all the machines...what are the odds of a number going this long without a digit coming..this really makes you wonder what they are doing behind closed doors...and I'm sure when they do let it go they will drop that digit again like a hot potatoe....

The odds are 1:292,000,000 so I'm guessing (with all the tickets sold for this drawing) there will be 2 winners. I will also guess one winner will be in Arizona and the other will be in Florida. Don't ask me why, just a guess. LOL

yes , the site released the. numbers after 1 am. I am plum pleased when its not sell out. Players still win, and the odds increase! How is that unfavorable? I lost yet I cannot complain, its a game of chance. And having a chance is still a good thing. Looking forward to read the winners stories:)

I don't have the time to study. Besides, all of those dates that you posted are well before the new matrix change. Back then, the odds weren't nearly close to 1 in 292 million.
