Powerball odds of winning the jackpot would be 1 in 292,201,338. The size of the USA population is 300 million. Winning smaller prizes won't be enough to keep lottery players chasing an un winnable lottery jackpot. Smaller states games are not worth playing because of the lower playership. Take a look at the New York lotto and the Texas lotto, they keep on rolling because of low sales even though the jackpots are very high.

Why does it have to be so impossible to win the lottery?
Hi everyone, i have been coming to this site for a long time and appreciate all of Todd's hard work in creating a site like this and how hard it must be to maintain this site daily. Why does the lottery need to continue to change the matrix on games like MM and soon PB? It was already impossible to win the jackpot and even impossible to win the second prize. Before the matrix change I played MM more but having to get 5 numbers out of 75 numbers makes it truly impossible to get a second place

I believe the best approach is get the first 4 lexis in like my 5/35 then leave last 2 blank run it get the 100 set then choose however many you want to play from those whether its $5.00 worth or all $100.00!! At least if you get the FIRST FOUR lexis right your odds of a jackpot are 1 in 100 lol. But either way my opinion GET THE FIRST 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Da Boot...........................

I bought a ticket yesterday ... Thursday ... it was just under 65,000. I heard from another member later in the day who had just bought a ticket and it was over 65,000. Sales are clipping along ... I hope they can sell 100,000 tickets by Oct 1st and 200,000 (or more) in October. Very nice, Chris! I need to see more of those $100s and $50s. I still contend that I am in a very cold area because I just do not see in PA what you and some others see. Though the 50x ticket has been the main culprit - 2/13 on it combined with me and my parents playing. I really question the listed odds on that game.

If it keeps rolling into the change then $400M-500M cash is very plausible. Don't forget that in addition to worse odds the jackpot allocation is increasing about 5%, which means jackpot will grow larger faster (assuming sales stay constant or increase). I would anticipate a slight uplift in sales from the increased advertising near launch of new matrix, not to mention the potential higher jackpot at that time.
