Once the jackpot hits record levels - non-serious/common people will return to PowerBall and then will forget/not care about the new odds - and if PB starts and continues to build big jackpots - they will stay PB players. The sales won't be as high as before, but the profits will be bigger for the states because of the sales pushes of the big jackpots.

I think people are not excited about the lottery anymore, especially states that rarely see a jackpot win. Other reason: unemployment, lack of hope, $2.00 pb and no wins for a long period of time, seeing the same places win and very high odds.

Given historically most jackpot winners are QPs I'd say yes they do. And I'll give you that if you can scrape up hundreds of thousands to buy a ton of combos your odds go up a little. But get real that won't happen again now that these huge matrices exist.

I've done more than just thought about what I've come up with, I've checked previous drawings to see if it was unique. For example I checked the last 195 MM drawings since its last matrix change and found a combination pattern had occurred 25 times or 10% of the drawings but just haven't found a way to take advantage of it playing only 10 lines per drawing. It could be improving your odds doesn't count for much if you're only playing a few lines.

Saw that too, and my first thought was there won't be a live televised drawing? Not a biggie, since PA Lottery use a RND (so there's nothing to see anyways), and many players check their tickets the following day. In the past, part of the marketing hype was the live drawing. So far, not seeing much marketing beyond the usual of how great the odds are of winning $1 million and tickets are selling fast (really, they are? -they didn't sell out last time).

so they are still paying $600-$24,999 wins eddie so that is how it is working - NY does not even want to print that many tickets above $600 at all, and they getting very stingy w $500 winners on $5 games lately as well - last 2 games had 82400:1 odds for $500 and the game before only had $300 and $400 prizes
