Launch of the new UK Lotto...
Just read this on the UK Lotto site, if you're in the UK you might as well give this a shot on the 5th and the 12th of October since they are doing a 1000 winners on the raffle and a nice big 10M GBP JP on both draws. I don't play this draw myself but I will but a ticket for each draw, I like a good raffle. We're celebrating new Lotto with TWO unmissable launch events. For each of the draws on Saturday 5th and 12th October 2013 there will be a massive guaranteed jackpot

State Raffles. What are your thoughts on them?
Jusy my $.02 and it won't be popular, but in Pick 6 or 5 + 1 jackpot games $1 or $2 could win multi millions, that's the big draw of the games. So let's say in a state rafle $10 or $20 wins $1 million. And let's use the current MM jackpot of $61 M. If there's a MM winner, that $1 won $61 M. The raffle winner, let's say a $20 raffle, each dollar won $50,000. Not quite the same bang for the buck. Illinois raffles used to produce a few winners and 499,991 losers for a $20 ticket. The

Florida Raffle Ticket $10 with 7 (700,000) Prizes
FYI, the Millionaire raffle from July 2010 had 5 top prize winners and the numbers were: 307746 272211 325267 464251 448316 *B$Rizzle that other blog has the link to entire list of all 2,540 winners. I scanned the list and there was no winners from the end. I am not sure if I will buy anymore at this time unless I win some extra money. *This raffle only has 777 prizes instead of 2,540 cash prizes from the last raffle.

Oregon Lottery tries first raffle
For $10, the Oregon Lottery says the odds of becoming a millionaire will be better than than the average lottery ticket. The lottery is offering its first raffle, with a guaranteed $1 million jackpot to be announced on March 17, St. Patrick's Day. The drawing is scheduled for 8 p.m. Pacific Time. Beginning Sunday, the lottery will sell 250,000 tickets for $10 each, making the odds of winning the jackpot 1-in-250,000 a long shot but far better than Powerball, at 1 in 195 million, or Megabuc

Running an office Powerball pool is discouraging
I run a combination Lotto/Powerball pool in my office and we haven't won the big one yet, but we have won alot of small prizes like $3, $4, $7, etc. This does happen fairly often, so I guess we're doing OK. I currently have 8 people in the pool, and we each put in $4 every payday(2 weeks). What I do is buy a mix of multidraw tickets for Powerball and Lotto for the next 4 drawings. When we win small prizes, we keep them until we make it to a multiple of $4, then we buy extra tickets.

When you win a small prize
For me, I stick to what I usually buy which currently is 1 Lotto and 1 Easy 5 ticket and if it gets to $100 million, Powerball. I occasionally buy scratch tickets, but only when there's a second chance drawing associated with them. For the lottery pool I run at work, I buy extra Powerball and Lotto tickets except for 2 weeks ago when the pool won $10 on Powerball. Since the Louisiana Lottery is running the Millionaire Raffle game with a prize of $1 million and only 300,000 tickets being so

Million Dollar Raffles
Personally, I think that's really rotten. I've seen other states do it also. THe whole point of the raffle is that it gives the player the best odds at winning a million. Usually 500,000 (the number of tickets printed) to 1. So, okay, that would be better odds than any other jp game. But if you can't sell all the tickets by post time that's just too bad. It decreases the odds even more for those who played. I don't see anywhere where anybody guarantees any private business a profi
