It's been almost a year of cutting my lottery spending and so glad I cut back
I'm starting to cut down on my lottery spending as well. Over the past couple of months my lottery budget was quickly starting to creep up. It was primarily because of scratch off tickets.
The odds of winning scratcher top prizes is slightly better than winning a million dollars with Powerball. The only problem is that you have to be in the right store at the right time playing the right game. Knowing my luck, all the winning tickets are probably on the opposite side of town from me at

California again? (Powerball)
Despite joining 1/3 into the year, California sold about 223.3 million Powerball tickets last year. Add that to the 140.5 million so far this year, and you get 363,800,000 tickets sold. That's pretty substantial, enough to expect at least 2 winners without even blinking. Using the formula I posted in another thread, the probability of 4 or more winners from California in the 1.5 year period is about 15.7%. That gives odds of 1 in 6.4, which makes it seem not so unlikely after all.

North Carolina: 9/1 - 9/30/2014
I knew I had seen that 964 number before. I hope 003 hit's either way I would win, looks like the odds are good.

Yes, I have cut back also. The odds suck, the same places win, not very many people win and I still feel that it is not a truly random game.

It's been almost a year of cutting my lottery spending and so glad I cut back
Hi everone,
It's been almost a year of my spending way less on playing the lottery. When I first started playing in late 2010 I became obsessed with trying to win the lottery. I played too many scratch tickets and lost much more than I won. Started to realize that I could play the lottery forever and still never win a jackpot. When the new scratch tickets come out I buy 2 tickets and that's it until another new set of tickets come out. It feels great to be able to walk into any store and not

College Student Who Just Got into Scratchers – Advice?
Play once in a blue moon or not at all! The most i ever won in college on a scratch off was $36 and you would have thought it was $500! It was a $2 or $1 ticket. I very rarely played though. It is not a good habit to pick up and from reading the boards PA is not a state with good odds.

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
The odds of the $2k win on that $5 ticket were 1 in 20,000. Awesome job. I hit a win all on the 100X the Cash the other day, but it totaled $150. I don't know if I'll bother uploading the picture at this point. Maybe I'll get something better in the near future.

What are the odds of winning the lottery when you are a pro?
Games with the lowest number pool provides the best odds. Luck can not be eliminated though. That's why it's a game of chance not certainty. Even people who play with systems can't change that.

What are the odds of winning the lottery when you are a pro?
I believe a pro, will weight all the probabilities of the games outcome. Eliminate more numbers off their list then the average person, but the odds remain the same a 50/50 chance. Good Luck. God bless you.

What are the odds of winning the lottery when you are a pro?
It's a fixed number universe, the odds never change, pro or not.
A pro can adopt a strategy tradeoff that can enhance the chance of winning when things go one way and reduce or eliminate chances to win when they go the other.
For example: You can elect not to use the numbers from the previous draw in the next. This option will prove correct roughly 45% of the time and when correct eliminate 45% of all combinations (co
