CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
It's just simple math for me. It cost $2 for a chance at $6.4M with better odds in the PB game vs. a $20 scratcher with a jackpot ticket probably not even in my town.

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
I saw them today. The 5 out of 5 Powerball odds are true and better so I passed. Maybe when I'm in LA County or the Bay Area I'll give it a try.

Georgia Lottery Scratch Offs
i was looking forward to playing them because the odds of getting 500 was similar to the 100x time money tickets (around 1 : 150) and it seemed good to me . . but i couldn't find any at the places i went so didn't get a chance to but thanks for the heads up, hope you have some better luck next time !

anyone know the practical utility of the binomial distribution or other distribution in the lottery?
First, you probably should have asked this question over on the Math board. Personally, I view the distribution as one of the most important pieces of information we have in playing lotto. Just as an example, lets look at Pick 3 Doubles. We know they come along about every 4 draws, but that single average statistic is not that useful when a double hits immediately after another double, or doubles go missing for a week or more. The distribution of the skip of doubles looks like this:

Read all lottery books you want for FREE
The Lottery Book: The Truth Behind the Numbers should be read by everyone who plays the state-run lotteries. Despite the fact that players all know the odds are against winning those big jackpots, most don't know the nature of these games or the math behind them or, yes, how to most effectively play them. Virginia woman wins Cash 5 for second time
Several reasons. Although Rolling Cash5 has very good odds and I've tracked it or years, I've seldom played it because its jackpot seldom gets over $200K since it's won every three or four days . Besides, it takes a lot of time to do a workout that involves almost 3500 past drawings. The nice prizes I won in the past were won playing our Classic Lotto and Super Lotto games which were/are 6/49 games and RC5 is a 5/39 game and those winning combinations never came up before or again in any

Virginia woman wins Cash 5 for second time
I didn't get around to buying any tickets yesterday but I see it continued to roll to $585K for today so I probably make a better effort today. The odds of winning the top prize are 1:575757.

Mathematics and the Lottery
Down loaded a copy of JustBasic and when I changed the inkey$ statements to inputs instead, turn around the row and column positions and eliminate the color statements using its editor, l have a program that ran pretty much like the ODDS program I wrote in GWBasic even with the line numbers. Some of my other programs are larger with more complex statements but if their syntex can be changed as easily I may be getting a registered copy of Liberty Basic

Cash 4Life
Good question! I guess I'm playing to win a top prize, but I'll take any prize I can get given how hard it is to win the top prize. In other games, such as PowerBall, I play to win a 2nd place prize. (I buy the PowerPlay whenever I play PB, so I'd win 2 million if those numbers hit). The odds in PB to get 5 white balls are 7 million to 1, which is why I liked Sweet Million so much. Because SM was not pari-mutuel for the first five winners of a jackpot, I used to play the same set of six
