If we left the Numbers on the Balls, the Odds, and the Payouts for a given game as they are but randomly colored 75% of the balls RED and the other 25% BLUE, would you avoid betting on the BLUE balls because they are less likely to be drawn?

I would recommend people look at their lottery website and see what jackpot games their state offers, and play the one with odds that seem more reasonable. Who really needs hundreds of millions of dollars anyways? That way you won't have the national media and people looking for handouts from everywhere.

Another thing to keep in mind is that slow moving games may not have all top prizes on retailer shelves and could still be sitting at their distribution warehouses. The lotteries are masters at distribution. In California, they do a pretty good job at distributing prizes at stated odds relative to sales.

Jimbo I have my own tools and have ran thousands of simulations over the years but just for you I ran the one you linked above and it perty much agrees with my own observations. One could say that any 6 lines have the same odds as any other group of six lines and I would agree as the odds for the game cannot be changed. Powerball Power Play Number Almost Always 2 ?Reply
I have noticed that too. Looking at the odds there are more chances for 2 than the other powerplay numbers. I also don't pay the extra dollar, especially since the second prize payout would only be $2 million. Actually, the whole prize payout is out of wack on this game. Can't figure out what they were thinking when they made the changes.

Not influencing anyone to avoid scratchers, but I became more aware of its aspect over time (odds, ROI, chasing). I am not giving up on scratchers. I have not had the budget to play recently, but I should be able to play some next month and post results.

...and no matter how high the odds, 259M or whatever comes next, there will always eventually be some early wins on draws with low sales. Like tonight's MM JP win in NY on just the 2nd draw after reset at $20M. That's why they can't inflate the JP too much.

Yeah, I don't know what's with those calottery.com website guys sometimes. Lots of website errors, incorrect odds, and they still haven't fixed the missing $5 Big 6 Bingo and $3 Bingo Boxes data for what, over a month now? What gives? I personally wouldn't do it mainly because of the top prize value. The odds to hit $500 is 1 in 686, so on average every 13.7 packs will have a $500 winner in it. For me it doesn't seem worth it to wager $500 to try and win $500 plus other mid/lower tier prizes.
