Watch Out!! The Hidden Danger in PA's Millionaire Raffle
You're correct, most people who play the PA raffle aren't concerned/obsessed with getting a one off, but that's only because they don't realize what could happen. I started this thread to simply point out that there is a hidden danger with playing the raffle. But knowing about that hidden danger wasn't enough stop me from playing it. That's because I know that the odds of it actually happening to me were slim to none.
But if I was someone who did NOT win one million dollars last Saturday nig

Holiday Raffle Drawings
Hey winningin2016, I can't answer your question on PA and suggest you call them if you don't get your answer here, though on the topic of raffles:
I like Canada's Lotto 6/49 as it has a separate though included with the ticket guaranteed $1mil. (Canadian Dollars) every draw, so it's essentially a $1mil. CAD raffle every drawing.
They don't use the word raffle though it's the same thing.

Watch Out!! The Hidden Danger in PA's Millionaire Raffle
So here is what happened to me -
We, new wife I, went to an event which the X wife was also at. We are friendly with her so we ended up sitting at the same table. Well the 50/50 raffle came around and we bought tickets and the x bought the ones RIGHT AFTER us. And YUP! You guessed it, SHE won.
I did get my one PA Raffle ticket around Turkey Day. Didn't win anything on the weekly draw, so now waiting for 1/4.

Is Powerball just going to rot away?
Think,
Just how much do you figure an entry fee would be for a billion dollar raffle?
In PB or MM $2 has a shot at winning multi-millions.
In even just a $1M raffle with an entry fee of $10 every dollar wins $100,000. Whoop tee do.

An Interesting Raffle Question
We would like to restate.
It took me a moment to see what you were asking. How about this:
On average, how many raffle numbers will need to be drawn before yours is drawn?
Off the top of my head without doing any math I'm thinking it might be answered more easily if there were a million and one raffle tickets.

Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle
It has sold out already, and there were more tickets this year than last year! Usually, it doesn't sell out until after Christmas.
Good luck, and I hope everyone who wanted a ticket got one!
The top prize is paid out in a lump sum, right?

New Year Raffles?
Maybe I was too hard on The Connecticut Lottery.
Three and a half million people live in Connecticut. 12.8 million people live in Pennsylvania. Obviously there's a bigger opportunity to sell raffle tickets in PA than there is in CT.
CT has been selling their raffle tickets since Oct 15th, and having sold 24,800 as of yesterday says they are selling at a rate of about 800 per day. My guess is they'll sell out anyway. The big rush to buy tickets at Christmas will probably get the job done.G

New Year Raffles?
Was in CT yesterday and thanks to your post I knew they were running The Superdraw Raffle again. I stopped at a gas station and bought three. It's been quite a while since they last offered it.
I wont be buying any more than three tickets though. Pennsylvania started selling tickets last Tuesday for it's New Years Millionaire Raffle which I prefer over CT's. Four one million dollar winners vs one in CT, and the odds are 125,000 to 1. Early Bird winners top prize is $100,000 vs $10,000 too. H

Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle - XXIV
As a player, I rarely (if ever) consider the lottery's side of the coin.
All I ever think about is having one of those four top prize winning raffle tickets in my hand. But reading your post gave me some good insight with regard to how easily these raffles could disappear. Is the raffle cannibalizing sales from other lottery products? I dunno, but it very well could be. Maybe that's why other states don't offer them.
Anyway, I'm just like you, I won $100 a few raffles ago and am hoping t
