MEGA MILLIONS JACKPOT SOARS TO $636 MILLION
Eh, with the current MM odds, there is a good chance we'll be back at $500M in a few months. You could wait for that person to claim theirs.

What if the Mega Millions reach to $2.0 Billion jackpot?
Of course it's possible. It's even possible that you'll win a jackpot. It's just that the odds are very much against it.

Todd scheduled to appear on CNN New Day Tuesday morning
One of our local stations, WJXT TV4 in Jacksonville FL, just had a news segment on the 5PM news on the Mega Millions drawing and they included your segment of the interview, not the whole CNN segment above, just some of it including your lightning/sharks odds of winning comment...

quick pick vs self pick--for 12/17 MM draw
Just curious what method most people use? Does it really matter with the odds so high? What percentage of JP's are won with QP?

MEGA MILLIONS JACKPOT SOARS TO $636 MILLION
Yeah, when MM changed the odds, they also made another sneaky change which was the extension of the annuity to 30 years. It weakens the cash value considerably relative to the advertised jackpot. I think many lotteries are moving to 30 year annuities though. Even in California, the SuperLotto Plus is now paid out in 30 years.

So what's your go to game?
I love scratchers too but I only play the $10 and $20 ones when I got that kind of disposable income. I usually buy at least 2 or 3 tickets cause the odds are better, but my games I play every drawing is MM and PB. MM I get the megaplier and PB I do not power play

Poll: Does it make sense to play
Yeah, the odds are horrid. I play a $1 only. I don't expect to win. Heck, I don't even expect to get the mega. But, I would take my infinitesimally small chance of winning vs. no chance any day.

Poll: Does it make sense to play
they could do a game with billions of odds, make it $1 buys you 50 chances, i mean $0.02c a line. and i would still stick in buck. that slim chance is all i need.

$550 MILLION: Mega Millions holiday bonanza!
Fair point. I get your logic but think of this.....since the new rules have been implemented, there have been 39 million dollar winners, THIRTY NINE!!!!. Most of which only won $ 1 million. Had they bought the megaplier, their winnings would have ranged from $2 million - $5 million. And since NO ONE has won the big prize and there have been 39 second place winners, i think that suggests that the odds of winning the second place prize is MUCH MUCH higher. Hence the need for multiplier!!!

With new Mega Millions matrix... how do you choose your numbers?
1-75 is basically Bingo balls. Maybe you can get some Bingo sheets or balls and play around with that. Don't know if MM intended that, but they just so happened to land on that number 75 when creating the new matrix. Hmmm... Maybe if sales start to slack off they might do a revision to the matrix. They could do 5/80+1/10 instead of 5/75+1/15 which would be about 1-in-240M odds. And 80 white balls is basically Keno balls, so you got some benefit there. And 10 mega balls 0-9 would bring i
