Is Mega Millions paying ?? Or are the odds just too high?
JonD, we all know there is a 0% chance of a winner in a previous draw but the lottery (or at least MUSL) looks at the cumulative probability this way (see point 2 at the bottom of any recent official Powerball jackpot estimate sheet...they call it cumulative coverage ). Also, prior to 10/22 draw was the old MM matrix, a different game with different odds, so it does not make sense to include those draws. No, you're right, but it is possible to include draws with different odds because th

$257 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot expands
I'm still waiting a few more drawings until I jump in. It's the state lottery for me until then. The jackpot is less with the state lottery but it has better odds.

1 million dollars a year for life game # 596 NY WINNER
This game is a waste of money and I spent alot on it the most I have ever won was 50 dollars. Once I bought 10 tickets in a row. Out of the 10 one was a winner an it was only 30 dollars. I don't believe their odds. I have 200 and many 100s and way more in other scratch offs than this one.

"Beating the House!"
It all about rewards against risk. Lotteries attract players by offering a chance to win millions of dollars by risking one or two dollars. Casino offer better odds but the rewards aren't as big. If the chances of winning was the same for both sides then it wouldn't be gambling.

"Beating the House!"
Due to the odds, beating the house at the casinos is a lot easier than at the lottery. As far as the lottery goes, I have never seen a successful system, formula, whatever, that allows someone to consistently win more than they lose. The only people that come out ahead are the big winners that have the most important element on their side: luck. And many big winners end up losing much of their money back to the lottery and other unwise spending. All of the lottery systems fall
