People like big jack pots but for what? Wouldn't it be nice if more people could win a million with the odds in their favor. Not going to happen because the objective of the game is not to make your pocket fat but to make someone else fat. Ha, ha, ha

I think yes, in the last 4 mega millions games, New York has won 3 second tier games. One that I know of had multiplier which equals 3 million dollars. The game is played the same, only thing that changed is the odds/matrix.

I agree with Todd the promise has been met. The increased odds are negligible to win the jackpot. Even if MM PB eliminated all secondary prizes sales drop offs would be very small. I'd say 95%+ play for the jackpot only. If you want small wins play scratchers and state games.

Well I have a partner whom plays the Mega and the Powerball with me. I think the Mega is a bit tougher now, but let's face it, all the games,(odds) are tough. And I may add we caught the Powerball Wednesday which gave us $4.00 dollars in which I reinvested in another Powerball for tonight (Saturday) and I bought 2 more Megas in which we caught the Mega last night night (Friday) and I bought 2 more Megas for this coming Tuesday. Gee, maybe the MegaMillions jackpot WILL exceed $200... just like the odds! Maybe they should come out with a MegaMillions Jackpot clock... one like the national debt clock. We can continue to watch it grow by the minute, but of course it will never need to start over.

Lottery players will be spending more money in states games than Mega Millions and Powerball. You play against less people in state games with better odds to win.
