CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
I usually buy a few tickets of a roll, max buy at odds, and take them away. Occasionally I will chase a win in store if I can find a machine and scanner all to myself, but again, limit it to odds.(typically 4 tickets) As you have seen, and many others have reported as well, you can get really sucked in chasing wins and end up with a long string of losers with only a ticket value in the end for your efforts. But I don't think either method has any significant advantage over the other. Other me

Maryland: 4/1 - 4/30/2013
I believe all odds means either a repeat or a series. Plus 137 equals 11 so be on the look out for a 7 or an 11 sum soon.

Playing recently drawn numbers to win a jackpot
So did I, especially when they're betting on their own skills, or the skills of athletes, or horses. Never really thought about this in relation to random lotteries though. I think you'll find the gamblers making a living or just showing a small profit know when to bet and how to bet. Just the fact that not all MM and PB drawings produce a jackpot proves there are times when QPs have a better chance of winning. When 17.5 million MM tickets are sold, there is only a 10% chance of a jackpot w

My State's Lottery Commission is __
I'm surprised. I do alot better with Conn scratchers then NY. Our odds are horrible. I also like the different games they offer like 50/50 and LFL.

My State's Lottery Commission is __
Incompetent. Texas Lottery Commission is going to end up killing our 6 ball Lotto. Odds are about 1 in 25 million to match 6 out of 54 and the 2nd place prize is not even worth playing for. They've been asked by many players to go back to the original 50 ball matrix but they won't listen. Next week they got this new Extra! feature being added onto the game. It works much like Powerplay or Megaplier except the bonus is not as nice. $10,000 for a $2 play if you match 5 of 6. Aparrently,

Playing PB with The Power Play in New York?
GiveFive, You make good points also. I'm sure the lure of winning a top prize sevral times over with the same set of numbers playes mulitple times is very alluring and probably what the lottery is counting on. I've always said that the lotteries are always one step ahead of the players (actually way more than that!). Illinois has a Pick 5 game- Lucky Day Lotto- with an option called EzMatch- for an extra dollar you get a set of numbers printed on the ticket and if anyone of them natches

Learning curve
Since lottery is a game of chance, your case is not unusual but you can try to buy scratch off tickets instead. Those tickets have better odds but with lower prizes.
