7 state lotteries join forces for multi-state raffle
The question isn't being hard for a computer to pick, it's the integrity and how trustworthy, or how easy it would be to code a specific number to show up in the list. Isn't that the point behind the physical ball draws? That everything is seen and out in the open? In theory, they can do the raffle draws with the same kind of bouncey ping pong ball machines used for pick3/4, just have one for each digit of raffle number.

Mega Millions needs to be Re-Branded
I think raffles are terrible. They supposedly offer better odds of winning some prize, but I have been playing Illinois raffle from the very beginning, and I have yet to win even the smallest prize of $1,000 or some other merchandise that was associated with the recent Fourth of July Raffle. I have also participated in other raffles in a few other states as well as raffles for certain charitable organizations...and I have won ZILCH...NADA...ZERO...NOTHING. So I view any money I spend on playing

State Raffles. What are your thoughts on them?
Haha Dragon Lady should throw you a bone this Christmas rdgrnr. I'm hoping she is reading this. VA and PA have the best raffles. 4 millionaires are created with only 500,000 tickets sold. Best odds. MA has a raffle called Super 50/50 Raffle. Its not worth even knowing about it.

Would you consider moving to a State that produces multiple MM/ PB winners if yours is a dry well?
Another consideration is the number of players in that state that win life changing jackpots. If 5 million play and on average 5 win a jackpot each year, you're not exactly increasing your odds by moving there. I bought MM tickets in another state at a store across the street from the store that sold a $200 million plus jackpot winner for that drawing. Just being in the right state, in the right city, and buying tickets at a store on the right street doesn't help much. I know you're not a fan

Lawmakers going after unclaimed lottery money
, golfer1960. It is necessary to return the monies into the JACKPOT of the SAME lottery game, so that the REGULAR players of THAT SAME game stand a second chance to still win those monies via a jackpot win. Regarding the idea to create a new lottery game, an annual raffle doesn't make sense/help. Since REGULAR players from the lottery games wins, which went unclaimed, NEVER played and lost via the raffle. The goal shouldn't be forcing regular players to play unbudgeted, additional, more expen

Ohio Raffle
BTW - I have 3 tickets total - the 2 numbers I mentioned above, and also ticket #7219. I doubt that I'll buy another. Last year, I bought 5 tickets and had a $100 winner, so I broke even. I bought them spaced out, so I basically had one ticket in the 100K range, one in the 200K range, etc. (I don't mind spending $100 close to raffle time, because we usually get $1,000 cash for Christmas from a family member anyhow. I use the bulk of that money for practical purposes - savings or true neces

Why can't Massachusetts have the exact same lottery raffle they had last year?
No I didn't. But I was super excited to check the website for the winning ticket numbers. I saw all of the numbers listed. and I thought I must have won something but I didn't. I didnt even win one of the weekly wednesday bonus drawings. For this years raffle I have 12 tickets so far. Hopefully I win the jackpot since thats only prize or the weekly bonus drawings for next week and today when they post the winning ticket numbers. I even purchased a Rhode Island raffle ticket. Those are $20

Why can't Massachusetts have the exact same lottery raffle they had last year?
You're lucky you have a raffle at all. Tennessee doesn't even have one. And the Dragon Lady said that if I call one more time asking if there's going to be a raffle she will crush my head like a grape.

POLL - State Raffles
Here's a chart in Excel I made of the Powerball lottery comparing to the Virginia Raffle. It is the expected value of a $20 play. Basically, only when PB hits $199.8 million lump sum does the expected value equal that of the Virginia raffle. Also important to note is that this PB expected value rests on the assumption that the top prize does not get split with multiple tickets. In the past, this has meant at least hitting $300 million in annuity value. Also, based on sales of the recent run up t
