Do some number combinations have better odds?
Your calculation is based on all 44 consecutive combinations, not a particular one. You can expect only one of the 44 to show up every 317,814 drawings. The odds of a particular combination showing up are the same for all of them regardless of their composition - 1:13,983,816.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Are you saying the odds of hitting a combination of six consecutive numbers in a 6/49 game are 1:317,814 as opposed to 1:13,983,816? If so prove it.

I wasn't aware of the odds until someone else posted. The VDay ones are like 1 in 4.6 or something. Will certainly hit up the other roll of 7's when he opens them. They are nice looking and make sure you uncover 15 actual #'s. will certainly be my $5 ticket of choice for awhile.

I did see your post. That's what prompted me to go on the lottery website and check the odds of the 7 ticket. For my one splurge I think I'll buy a couple of those and starting next week I'm putting a $20 max. on ticket purchases.

Just wondering if anyone else tried the new PA scratch offs that came out yesterday and how you did. I found it interesting that the 7 ticket's odds were 1:38 (though it looks very unusual). Not bad for a $5 ticket! Extra funds have been low so I'm waiting until Friday to play.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Stack never proved that you can change the odds. He just consistently uses logic to explain you can win more than once if you pick lots of numbers. That's not relevant. You say you only have to hit once to be ahead, but that's not necessarily true. Especially in response to my statement about the odds balancing out. First of all, they aren't relevant, second of all you never answered my question which was how does believing that make me a hyprocrit? You can't answer that because

Illinois Lotto Extra Shot Payouts
Anybody? Todd? Maybe you could use you connections and solve this one. I called the Illinois lottery and all I gopt was Extra Shot is a way for players to win more money. They didn't even touch this, although I asked three times: The odds of getting 1 + the Extra Shot are 1:62, pays $2 The odds of getting 0 + the Extra Shot are 1:54, pays $5

patterns
The odds of combination 01,02,03,04,05,06 being drawn are exactly the same as any other individual combination in the same game. The odds of a combinational type being drawn or being worth filtering out are exactly the same as the population percentage of the group they are a part of. The problem with 01,02,03,04,05,06 is more in the number of people who buy these kind of combinations making the potential share in the prize worth much less then the usual draw. There is no probl

TN Cash (state lotto) vs MegaMillions
I would play TN cash more often because the odds of winning any prize are much higher than in MM. Just the frequency of jackpot wins should inform you which game is easier to win. Some people though only play for the big jackpot. Do you?
