Do some number combinations have better odds?
Lotto math is confusing. Ohio's New Year raffle is advertised as having the best odds of winning a million dollars. For $20, you get one of 500,000 raffle tickets which makes the odds of winning a million dollars 1:500,000 For $20, you could buy 10 MegaMillions tickets with the multiplier and have odds of 1:390,470 to match 5/5 + 0/46 which also pays one million dollars. They appearantly assume players can't figure odds.

Ohio New Year's Raffle
Tickets went on sale November 11th. Anyone planning to get one? I bought one the other day (#7219). Will probably buy another one or two before the drawing. Last year, I had a $100 winner, which means that I broke even.

The Florida Lottery's Popular Millionaire Raffle Is Back!
Thank you for purchasing so early in the AM today, Now we know that just under 84,000 tickets are in the running for last week's raffle prizes....Good luck to all. (I imagine that between 6:00AM and the time Win$500Quick purchased this AM there were relatively few sales of tickets.) One important fact will be how many get purchased by next sunday evening and we'll be able to make a better projection for how the last week of sales may actually be. Does anybody know if they have been puttin

$100 Raffle
St. Judes is raffling off a $350K home. They're selling a maximum of 7,777 tickets (which they usually sell out) for $100 each. I'm debating whether to buy one. Would you? Also, the website says taxes must be paid before they will transfer the house to you. But seriously, who has the money or the credit line to come up with that kind of money without the house to borrow against? I'd paste the relevant paragraph here but I can't, I assume because I'm using Firefox?

Ohio's New Year's Raffle
I would agree that its hard to have a strategy with a raffle. You either get lucky or you don't. I won a very substantial raffle prize once. (Substantial as in 6-figure value.) After my name was drawn, a lot of people started asking me how many tickets I had purchased. Only bought one ticket, but I guess it was the right one.

Introducing my self, And an idea.
Welcome to Lottery Post Henry! Sounds like a raffle. Pretty expensive raffle too. $10 buy-in, over the internet? Fishy. Locally it might work, if tickets were $1.

Kentucky Lottery launches 50/50 raffle Friday
I have no idea on the ticket sales, I'm taking your word for it. But if only 7,000 tickets were sold, I would be buying tickets left and right. Those are great odds of winning a big prize. 1-in-7,000 to win a $70,000 prize? I'm all in! Those are better odds than winning Pick 4 straight - and that's usually around $5,000. Don't worry, sales of raffles tend to ramp up significantly in the final days before the drawing. Just ask Arkansas players, with the raffle that never ended because the lott
