Yes I have a set amount I want to spend per day and I purchase the tickets with the best odds. The system used to work great prior to 2011 then bam, the number of losing tickets jumped and hasn't gotten any better.

A few years ago, when Mega Millions was The Big Game, and it had its first jackpot over $300 million, with odds of only around 80 million to one, I think someone mentioned the last draw before the jackpot was won was a draw in which 96% of all possible combinations were purchased, yet the ball machine picked a combination that was in the 4% that wasn't purchased = no winner. It could happen again.

yeah but since the odds are 1 in 175M... i would guess there will more than likely be 1 winner for every 200M tickets sold. so they're claiming there have been about 600 million sold so far

No place is safer than my house, any type of travel puts the ticket at risk. In my house once I put it away and if I stay there the risk is a lot smaller. Odds are against anything happening to it either way, but I will take my chances with it hidden in my house.

Thanks! Does this up my chances of winning by at least 50%? Haha. I got $5 on this drawing tonight. People are going crazy spending hundreds or even thousands worth of tickets though. No matter how many you buy, your odds are still riduclous. So that's why I keep a tight budget with a lot of will power

I live in Orlando and buy only the scratchers with the best odds. Prior to 2011 I was able to make a small profit weekly on scratchers. In 2011 something changed and it hasn't improved. I can go days without a winning ticket. I haven't broke even in ages. From what I read on here the West Coast and South Florida get a lot of winners.
