Can Powerball go back to $1.00??
You can tell by the number of $10M minimum increases that this game absolutely sucks now. Did they really think increasing the starting jackpot from $20M to $40M, but only cutting the odds down from 195,000,000:1 to 175,000,000:1 was justified?

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Imagine every ticket played for any particular drawing as one massive lottery pool. Every drawing is a massive pool, except that if there's a winner they don't have to share the prize. The odds of a winner are based entirely on how many combinations are played, not who bought the individual tickets. How many tickets played would that be, and applying your fraction theory to those tickets played, heck someone would have to win, no? My fraction theory is that selling 17.5 million tick

Dice vs Lottery Games: Is it Fair to Compare 1-1 vs 1-2-3-4 . . . ?
As others have said, the answer to the first question is yes. I'd say the second question is a completely different question because of the way you asked it. 7 and 150 aren't specific results, and can be reached in multiple ways. Even if you view 1+1 and 6+6 as sums, they can only be acheived by rolling one specific combination. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is a specific result, and is every bit as likely as any of the specific results that add up to 150. With the dice you can bet on the sum and it wo

Post your scratch ticket results
A+ for odds, that guy in omiller's link says? More like D- to F in my opinion. Guy got really lucky - it's not PA. I keep getting 0%, 30%, and if I'm lucky 50% of my money back like today. I'm not playing a whole lot, but it's bad when you have to spend so much just to break even or a little more.

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Man, we're still going at this? Anyway, this thread gave me an idea. Somewhere in this mess, someone (I think it was Coin Toss) offered the scenario of playing 175,000 MM/PB lines at once, effectively reducing the odds/increasing your chances to 1 in 1000. I believe the point of it was to illustrate that the odds are still long even at that grand scale. That got me to thinking: What if you actually did that? There's still a 99.9% chance that you won't win the jackpot, but what kind of winners

$ spent on lottery
I think that you are not with the big players. I saw tickets for one game for about 1 000 euro, and know about people having spent several thousands for a few games. If you compare to casino play, five hundred euro/dollar budget for a game isn't such a big amount. A system player comes prepared with thousands. I would have liked to play a 650 euro wheel for several games, but people didn't go for it. Now, it is to late, they changed the odds and payouts!

Odds on Misinformation
Where does the strategy come from? Comparing odds to history, or using the history and simply analyse it? The non lotteryposter will probably play quickpicks only, or just the same combinations until death puts him apart from the lottery. Some believe in math and statistics so much, that they are unable to imagine a different outcome than E(X). Let met put this straight, odds are averages! If you check out the Belgian Keno, you will find 1 to 6 several times, in pick 6 it would have paid 2

Odds on Misinformation
While it's true any set of numbers can hit, a player picking his own numbers needs a strategy for eliminating some combinations since he can't play them all. Eliminating combinations with all sequential numbers seems like a good place to start since the odds of such a combination ever hitting is way less than 0.1%.

Odds on Misinformation
The Odds does not Matter . All that matters is if you have the Winning Set of Numbers . Winning is possible its just a matter of the right system and right wheel and filters ..
