What does it take to start a lottery?
tatttersals the major australian lotto, was a raffle ran as a private concern way back. and hey the mob run numbers, basically pick 3 games . and online there are pick 3 and pick 4 that use state results for honesty and pay over state games odds.

Who is going to play the new game "Lucky for Life" in New England?
I'm on the CT border so I was gonna get a bunch of tickets but i think they made it worse. They say the odds were cut in half to win any prize. Its not a new game. Before you picked 4+1 for 2k a week. Now you need 5+1. Before you picked 1-39/1-39. Now its 1-40/1-21. Yea the smaller prizes suck too.

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Interesting that you're now trying to include another number in the bet on 12.
I was talking about making another bet, the same amount with the same odds against winning as the 12 . The payoff remains the same just like the MM jackpot remains the same when I buy two tickets with two different combinations. But by betting on the 2 , I now have two chances of winning the same prize. The odds are in both games, the bets will lose, but it doesn't change the fact two chances to win the same jack

NY Lotto
I play it after 2mill. Its a good deal and decent odds. Actually it seems like it went up alittle faster last jackpot.

Post your scratch ticket results
I have been doing pretty poorly on the $20 tickets lately so I think I am going to cut back on those. Odds are usually around 1:2.5 - 1:3 but on Silver Gold Riches I have been having to play 5 or 6 to win a prize lately. I think they should change the top prize of $1,000,000 and cut it down to like $5,000 or even $1,000 and put a lot more smaller prizes in the tickets like $100 and $500 winners. I think that would make the game a lot more fun and less painful on the wallet.

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
savagegoose beat me to it. 1 in 1,422.8 isn't quite the slam dunk Coin Toss seems to think it is. It's still extremely possible that you won't hit the jackpot. Chances are you'll earn a decent amount of money back, but you're still dropping almost $250K (almost $375K if you're doing Power Play) on a less-than-1% possibility of landing the big one. I'm not about to sit here and try to calculate the odds of breaking even, though it would make for a decent project for someone inclined to do so.

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
This is the best argument for thrifty's case I've seen thus far. Everything you state is correct but it does not disprove my side of the argument that more tickets = better odds. It merely exemplifies how minute the difference is. You're still david vs goliath no matter how many tickets you buy.

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
It is not a comulative thing. The 50 tickets will face odds of 1 in 175 millions individually whether you buy them at once or 1 ticket every week for 50 weeks.

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Have to disagree with you there. Buying more tickets ABSOLUTELY increases your chances. Although that increase is small it's real. To simplify:
1 ticket in 1 million combinations is .000001 % odds
10 tickets in the same drawing would increase your odds to .00001%
100 tickets .0001% etc
Even just adding 1+1 you go from .000001 to .000002% chance of winning. Obviously negligible but it DOES increase your chances. Pretty simple math really.

Well I'm back to feeling addicted to playing the lottery again
Instead of trying for the jackpot games with the near impossible 175 million to one odds, why not try the pick 3? It's only 1,000 to one. You won't get wealthy but 3 or 4 straight hits a month wouldn't hurt.
