Two Quick Picks from Same Store for Same Florida Fantasy 5 Drawing?
Not the same as what you were saying. Yes, long odds for a duplicate at the same store. That would be a case of conditional odds. But not for the odds of any duplicate, that is independent.

Tickets for updated Mega Millions game on sale Saturday
I am too having trouble trying to figure out how 1:258 million equates to 1:129 million myself. Thought I was going crazy for a second lol. The answer can't be IF you play two games because if you play two games then your odds would 2: 258 million . The Answer also cannot be add megaplier because adding the megaplier for an extra dollar for each game does not effect the ODDS' of winning in ANY way... it only increases the payouts (Excluding the jackpot prize). Michigan Poker lotto
After I finally took some time to look at this new game, I don't see why anyone would want to play it. You have MUCH better odds by playing Daily 4 if you're interested in the $5,000 prize. You have better odds by playing Fantasy 5 if you're interested in the $100,000 prize. You also have better odds by playing Daily Keno if you're interested in the $250,000 prize.

Will you be throwing in the towel when MM makes its changes?
Hell no, I'm going to keep playing. Yes, 1 in 258.9 million is amazingly bad odds, but it's not like JPs and second prizes were falling into my lap weekly with 1 in 175.7 million odds. With the improvement in lower odds, I'll probably see more money back from the game than I have up to now. I put down my $2 for my 2 tickets a week and I get to dream a little, I've always known I was more likely to get struck by lightning than win a JP.

$189 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot rolls again
MM used to have a few billion in sales, but the reason they're changing the game is that those days are gone. The current run took 14 drawings to reach a jackpot of $119 million (annuity, of course). At the current annuity to cash ratio that $119 million was just under $82 million cash. That represents sales of about 259 million tickets, which just happens to match the odds for the new format. At $1 per ticket, it took them 7 weeks to generate just under $260 million in revenue. At that rate

Lottery: A non-zero probability of deception?
With those astronomical odds stacked against a person winning, they don't have to be sneaky. The high odds do all the dirty work.
