Powerball multi-state lottery to raise prices, jackpots
From a markeying standpoint, you're right Todd, but I lok at any 5 + 1 (or any +1 game) as two lotteries, the top or first matrix and the bonus number matrix. In a field of 35 numbers one number is drawn making it 1 in 35 or 34:1.
In the the OP it didn't say anything at all about getting better than just the Powerball, it simply said the changes were the Powerball being drawn from 35 numbers instead of 39, and the odds posted in the chart as 1 in 56. The same chart shows 1 + 1 as 1in 111, so

Pennsylvania still has winners out there!
Did you see Lucky Hearts vs Solid Gold?? Lucky hearts has 10-50k, 10-10k, and 417-1k. Solid gold has 10-100k, 22-10k, and 921-1k winners. Why would anyone buy Lucky Hearts after looking at that? Both odds are 1 in 4:37, well Solid Gold is 4:38. Thats a big difference. I wonder why...

jackpot more than cost every ticket combo
Years ago when the state of Virgina had a game with similar odds and a jackpot worth $21M (annuity), an investment group from Australia tried to buy every possible combination and won it. Because of that particular incident, states all over the country changed their rules. I would think, if that group still exists, they would jump at that opportunity.

Lottery stop loss limit=$60 annually with three playing methods starting in 2012
I think it was in new jersey that lottery sales went way down because the areas that were playing the most were rarely winning any big jackpots.People will stop playing any game where they do not win at all, no matter how good the odds of winning are. We need more integrity in new York lottery games, let people win those big jackpots statewide new York lottery.

New York hit the Jackpot again...WTF!!
That last part is an interesting idea. However, the odds are so long that you could have 50 investors each put $1,000 per month in PB or MM and none of you would ever live to see a jackpot win.

Ruling by Justice Dept. opens a door on online gambling
I can't believe someone would post some BS about someone from the Ukraine winning Mega Millions or Powerball? Do you realize the odds of winning either of those games? If that's the case why do people play online poker in tournaments with players from Europe and everywhere else? I could care less if they allowed aliens from another planet to play.

Kentucky Pick 4 lottery players beat the house
they may have paid out 2.1 million more than they expected to, but no way they lost money when they only pay out 50% or 5000 clams for a possible 10,000 combination of numbers. just trying to stimulate sales by misrepresenting their bottom line. maybe that one day they lost money, but not for the month. payout odds too much in their favor.
