Good Investment Or Not- Playing Every Combination
Currently the Illinois Lotto has a jackpot at $18.25 Million. The odds based on a $1 bet are 1:10,179,260 to automatically win. Would it be a good investment to play every combination at $10,179,260 to automatically win which could be $18.25 million? And is it feasible to obtain all the tickets needed?

Thanks, all! Yes, I'm happy to hear it was above average.
dr65: I looked at all of them and don't think I missed any BILLs, but it's always good to re-check. Not only are the $100s fewer IMO, but it seems like the long losing streaks and bunching of wins is more common. I wasn't surprised about the losing streaks in my roll, yet they still made the odds average to 1 in 4. 1 in 4.19 is the listed odds.
Keystone: I'd like to buy a roll again sometime, but you're right that it might be that o

I think I'll put $105 in the bank towards another roll - that way maybe I won't wait long. And $100 on a big Lotto day - LOL. You're right - I'm not mad about the return. It fit the odds almost exactly with number of wins.

Anything over $20 is just too much. $50 is ridiculous. And the odds for that Texas scratch off are terrible. Imagine buying into a 5 ticket losing streak and for the 6th to only win $50 and you are down $250.

Lady Luck comes through again!
This evening's 317 (had it st/bx 1x) was one of my machine QPs ! It doesn't hurt to sprinkle in a few QPs for the heck of it, and darn if it's been hitting nicely lately, mostly on 1x or 2x boxes. I also live near the NY border and have hit there three times on 2x boxed bets in the past week! But long live NJ's pari-mutual system!
I KNOW this is NJ forum, and a pick 3 forum at that, so I'll keep my NY business to myself.
But on a same state basis, I have

What's interesting is that I got the harder way of getting $60 on Winner Take All. I had a normal number match with $60 under it. The easiest way under the odds is a Winner Take All number match with $5 X 12.

NY Scratch-off Discussion
Remember how I said the odds are the same whether you spend 15 or 1500? Yeah. I was right. Not to be snooty, but maybe you guys should take a statistics class instead of imparting your own logic into beating the lottery system? Buying rolls doesn't increase your chances unless you buy 12,000 of them.

Best lottery advice anyone can give you..
The best lottery advice is don't play. The odds are against you, and in the long run the vast majority of people will pay out more than they win.

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
You make a good point because I haven't found one either, but If I gave you the option of a game to beat that either had 10,000 to 1 odds, or 50 to 1, which one would you choose to beat?
