Lexicographic Numbers and a little math
RL,
Pls count me in. I'm interested in using Lexi. Some games could be easier to set the range and some a bit harder. For example, for my 5/42 the odds for 3 digits are 1 to 850, then combined odds for 2 pick-3 games would be 1:722,500 so better than for a regular game which is 1: 850,668.
Still this leaves us with a question of using best method to set the ranges. I'm not sure if feelings would do the trick, perhaps looking at some filter values for digits, say if 1-st digit goes up

It would be fun if an uberball lottery was created.
yeh but id still make it min entry of $1, so $1 would buy 100 lines. sure the jackpot goes up by 100th of normal, but then odds are like 1 million times harder. Post Reply

Im surprised at the lack of lower tier prizes and the odds of hitting them. To pay for that $1 MM prize on a $5 scratcher so many people gotta lose

The Great Lottery Revolt
Players know the odds when they buy tickets
That depends on how the lottery expresses the odds. A raffle game selling $500,000 unique tickets with four $1 million winners at $20 a ticket will say each ticket has a legitimate 1 in 125,000 chance of winning one of the four jackpots. While that looks great for advertisement, it really means 499,996 tickets will not hit a jackpot; that's 99.9992% of all the $20 tickets sold.
To answer the original question, many states offer promotions that

I agree, I checked the FL website and noticed that their tickets have much better odds for smaller prizes. The only advantage NY tickets have is the high jackpot amounts.

no there is a minimum, and it was what I calculated in my earlier post. It came out to around $700-750 per roll on average. Every roll has a minimum amount of prizes according to the odds posted on the website.

At $27.2M, Ohio Classic Lotto is looking good again
It was definitely Indiana tonight that got the PB jackpot. With PB resetting to $20M/$10.2M and MM at $29M/ $18.2, Ohio Classic Lotto at $29.1M/$14.5M cash values going past the odds of winning the jackpot is ready for the heavy hitters. I think I might put a couple of extra bucks on Monday's drawing. Good luck if you're playing.

Post your scratch ticket results
The Winner Take Alls were the only ones that won today. It's not supposed to be that way! My #018 Cash Fever was supposed to be a big one. Got it at Giant where the number has hit for $100 multiple times, too - oh well. You're on a nice little streak, GameGrl! The only $100 I have gotten on Whole Lotta Hundreds was on #149. The odds of $100 seem no better than the other $2 games.

I know this is the scratcher thread but I wanted to ask a question about NY Pick 10. I've never played before and decided to get a quickpick. I noticed on the website, it says there's even a prize if none of your numbers match! and in the odds section it says if you match 0 numbers, you get $4. How can this be? Isnt this essentially trading $1 for a free $4? Am I missing something here?
