Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
The odds against matching 5 + 0 became four times harder, but once that happens, the odds against winning the jackpot are much better. It goes without saying players are after the jackpot, but with odds of 40 to 1 against winning anything, they can almost expect to win nothing. At least the new format gives a $5 player a 3 to 1 chance of at least winning a buck.

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
Why not think of it as lowering your odds of winning your dollar back instead of increasing your odds of being a multi-millionaire.

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
The overall odds of winning the game's jackpot will change to 1-in-258,890,850 from the current 1-in-175,711,536. This change is expected to lead to larger jackpot growth. Florida finally get Mega Millions and then they decide to increase the odds. I will just stick to playing the regularFlorida Lottery games with better odds like Lotto, Mega Money and Fantasy 5.

Mega Millions Lottery
Its just another government made disaster in the making. PBs sweet spot is supported by ticket price NOT increased odds. Lottery players understand odds and gravitate towardBETTER odds.

Mega Millions Lottery
The odds against matching all 5 numbers is 17,259,390 to 1, but the good news is if you beat those extraordinary odds, it's only 14 to 1 against winning the jackpot!

Do you generally play both major jackpots regardless of the amount?
Do you generally play both major jackpots regardless of the amount?
I do! My achievable aim is to hit the second prize with a megaplier/powerplay. The odds of that is 1 in 3,904,701 for MM and 1 in 5,153,623.65 for PB. Not bad. Compare those odds with the odds of hitting the local 6/49; 1 in 13,983,816. == very tough odds.

Playing The Mega Millions And Powerball Lottery Games Is Very Expensive $15,600.
So your say I have .1 % odds of winning every time I play? I like those odds. And whats this about the money being lost forever? What are the odds of getting reimbursed on a lifetime of coffee purchases?
