Does chances of winning lotto?
The lottery is all about odds and luck. One state will sell more due to high population or interest in the lottery, while the other may be the opposite. Still, it does not mean that the state selling more ticket will have a winner, luck can still be on the side of the lesser populated state. However, based on the statistics, the states selling more ticket for the draw will most likely will have a winner from it.

Lotto Texas
The current jackpot is 82 million. The previous jackpot cycle ended when it was won at 76 million. My admittedly hasty and unverified count is that the previous jackpot was the result of 47 rolls and was won on the 48th draw. The current jackpot is a result of 52 rolls. These are the two longest dry spells in the game's history.
Also, it's the second-higest jackpot with a straight-six matrix (it reached 145 as a 5+1 game) and it's the highest it's been without a bonus ball since Mega Milli

POLL: Best entertainment at the Institute for the Lottery Insane
This week a special guest, one of LPs own, will explain how picking three correct numbers in the Mega Millions is so earth shattering, why the 305:1 odds against doing so are so much harder to overcome than hitting anything more, and as a bonus, will give us the history of Texas teams that have won the World Series.

Powerball outmuscles Mega Millions in sales, jackpots
This story brings a big duh from me.... I said it months and months ago that the crossing over would benefit Powerball more than it would MM since Powerball stood to gain access to many states with large populations compared to PB's availability in mostly smaller populated states. Besides that, people are suckers and only look at the annuity amount which is more inflated on the Powerball side and the cash option difference isn't as big. Plus there's the thing where MM has better (which isn't say

Pick4: Which One you Prefer: $2,000 (1 in 200 odds), or $2,500 (1 in 10,000 odds)..
Lottery players aren't as dumb as you think, if the odds of winning $2000 was 1:200, it would be a no brainier to buy all 200 chances and make an $800 profit.

Gail Howard question..
I would agree if that was true but the word money was never mentioned in my post, that is your assumption. Big wins being hard to come by isn't my assumption, that's according to the odds printed on the back of play slips. A prediction that wins big being hard to come by is not my assumption either, I check the predictions board results looking for them.

Combinations
Hi All,
In BobP's book he gives the odds of having the winning numbers amongst a reduced field. So for example in a 6/49 game the odds of having all the numbers in a reduced field of 18 is 1 in 753.28 combinations, for 21 it is 257.70 and for 24 it is 103.89. Does anybody have these combinations, is there a website where I can get it, or is there any software that can generate these? I've tried to use LottoDesignerXL but it doesnt' generate 24 number combinations, and with the lower number
