What is up with the Lottery?
The last two years I have won ZIP. Before that, I always hit a $8 or more on Megamillions and Powerball. I live in Texas I also play the Texas Lotto and Texas Two-step. I won $5 on the Texas Two Step back in May of 2018. I am seriously thinking about walking away from all of it. The Multi-State lottos can go to $1.6 billion and yet only have 6 second tier winners? Give me a break. Since they got rid of the machines and let computers do it I think it is nothing but a scam. Just to prove my point

0480 just had a telemarketer call me 470-529-0480 saying they could lower my interest rate on my credit card. I said go ahead a lower it. He then asked for my credit card number and the expiration. I cursed him out and hung up on him. He calls back from a different number 404-644-8518 and say why did you hang up on me? I told him he was trying to scam me then he start calling me names.

Right before my dad died, he was with Colonnial Penn. My mom and I had to call the companies up and they're all a pain in the ass. There is a 2 yr waiting agreement where the companies can refuse to pay the let's say $50k. She did get the premiums back, however, the companie are all scam artist. Beware of the companies and trust your own insticts.

True lotteries or sweepstakes don't ask for money before you claim a prize. If they want money for taxes, themselves or a third party, they are most likely crooks. Good advice, but I doubt the people at risk are read it. Is greed or ignorance the reason people lose thousands to the scam artists?

Yes, odd's are way un-proportioned. I seriously feel like these scratch offs are a scam. 1) Especially when taken into consideration you don't know if certain prizes where even printed. 2) Supposedly when a store goes under and for other circumstances can return tickets and the Lottery shreds them. I have read they don't even check the ticket's to know. So, how do you know if your meeting the percentile of winners that is advertised? How do you know if the tickets are even really out there? So many elderly don't have anyone to help them, or like her, just gullible. I would hope that someday banks/credit unions would/could take a more active role in these cases. Problems I see they probably don't care enough and more importantly these calls go to home phones and the bank employee can't listen in. Another scam within the past three weeks the guy wanted to know when I could get him the money. I said I'm waiting for you right now @ Standiford Field (Louisville airport) and hung up.

Thanks for posting this article Todd...may have beaten you to the punch on this one. Yesterday a message was received that I allegedly won $250K from/ on Face book. Her grammar was not always correct and said I'd receive an email. Wrote back that this is probably a scam which she did not like. I can't receive emails from FB because somehow my email address is backwards and that way it'll stay!

I wonder if they are going to pay the restitution before they are sentenced. If each count gets reduced to 5 years from 20, that's still 100 years. Now if it gets reduced to 2 or less they may eventually get out. I guarantee you though, they are not the only ones pulling that scam either.
