Another retailer charged in Connecticut Lottery scheme
No kidding. A lot of people here said these people are Stupid , but actually they are pretty smart. All those involved in the scam are Indians, and they dominate the IT field in the States and many other industrialized countries. Any machine can be hacked, and lotto machines are no exception. I would think lotto vending machines are more vulnerable to hacking than regular terminals.

Why do jackpot winners feel the need for an attorney or financial adviser?
LiveInGreenBay, Far better to pit a little effort into finding a decent attorney and financial adviser than to deal 'unprotected' with masses of bloodsucking relatives, acquaintances, current and former co-workers, con men and women, scam artists, terrorists who want a cut of your winnings or all of them, etc....

With $63M jackpot expiring today, Calif. Lottery sued by owner of damaged ticket
If the picture is that of his actual ticket, I would think those numbers would be enough for the lottery to know if this was the winning ticket. The picture is taken from the back side of the ticket and the out of order numbers were printed on the ticket by hand. At this point I'm inclined to believe the guy may be trying to scam the CA lottery. In DE our tickets have the numbers printed on them as numbers about midway on the ticket and then have the numbers printed in bar code at the bottom. If

Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
First and foremost there is a huge difference between the average working person or persons whom most of America does not know and well known high paid athletes, actors/actresses or celebrity figures. Most of them have security for one reason only that is for the safety of their families as well as themselves from droves of admiring fans, crazies and people who may want to kidnap a family member for ransom not, because they may be robbed at gunpoint for all this money that most probably don't ca

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
So, they actively pursue publicity due to advice from their attorney (who should be beaten, then sued into oblivion), but request that everyone respect their privacy ? Are they completely totally insane? They've just opened pandora's box; not only are their faces splashed everywhere (no more anonymity, ever), but now they're targets for every thief, swindler, scam artist, unknown relative looking for a handout, friend looking to make them their private bank for all sorts of high risk investment
