No, that's not an appropriate odds calculation because every ticket sold is $20. If you were playing regular lotto, where tickets sell for $1, and you bought $20 worth of tickets, then you could apply some kind of per-dollar odds calculation, but you can't do that when the base price is $20. Imo, with Pick 3 and Pick 4, using methods can be very successful. However, with games like Powerball and Megamillions and some other Pick 6/Pick 5 games, I really believe that Luck is a big factor. The odds are just too high to have any one method be successful in getting wins.

Glad to see Oregon giving a raffle a try. You can see how the lower ticket price affects the number of $1 million prizes offered. However, the odds are similar to other raffles: someone buying $20 worth of tickets will have a 1 in 125,000 shot at winning $1 million.

I have learned about a private raffle where I can win a house with odds that give me an 87% higher chance of winning the house than $10,000 from my local lottery. Now I won't sleep a wink if you keep on.....cause I don't check until the next morning in the paper.....have my ritual.....make coffee.....get paper and look to see if I won.....don't much think 888 will win.....the odds are so much against that triple or any triple for that matter.....I've about given up on them.

I have nothing against playing quick picks. Your odds are increased with every ticket you buy. Not by much, but some nonetheless.

I agree...If you have an effective system use it. But increase your odds by purchasing quick picks. I also find that purchasing the quick picks early in the am yields better results.
