Mississippi men tried cashing in lottery ticket after gluing on the winning numbers, officials say
Had similar happen years ago at a store where I worked. They got I don't know how many books of the first $20 scratchers, activated them and went store hopping in neighboring counties to cash them in. They didn't have to sign anything though. The security cameras I set up for owners was enough. Too many people will work harder at not working than they would at actually working. Even one is too many as far as I'm concerned. Had banned substances not been involved, it probably wouldn't have happen

CDanaT. These two players will be the first to be punished since MS Lottery began. They will be made examples of what not to do. Here in California we have SLED. Security and Law Enforcement Division.

I don't recall you asking for personal opinion, but here ya go: Pre-tests are performed for security and to ensure and verify a fair and total random drawing will take place.

I'm not implying that all states use this same procedure, but I'd be willing to be they all have something similar in place. https://www.valottery.com/aboutus/security

Unlike you Lucky Loser, I believe mechanical lottery machines are tested to validate the randomness of the balls being selected. I am paying money to the lottery for tickets, and my financial success or failure for any given drawing partially depends on their machine operating in a fair and proper manner. Security and auditing are mandatory for each and every drawing, and these pre-tests are a part of that security. I understand what you are saying about wear and tear on machines, but I see n

'You assume all the money noise stops when you finally have it'
Aside from this article, I've read that ~ 66% of all lottery winners end up going bankrupt within 5 years. Terrible statistic, but not surprising, given most don't make any plans or consult with experts prior to claiming the money. What would I do? Let's see... 1) Tell no one right away. Put my ticket (unsigned for now; how you sign it is how you must claim it) in my safe for secure keeping until I'm ready. 2) Don't claim the money until I found out if I can shield myself from publicity

What's the Purpose of the Printed Time of Purchase on Tickets, If Drawing is 15 min to 1 hr Later?
I'd imagine if you checked the Post Your Winning Tickets thread you might find some. But its never been a thing to post three or four ball winning tickets. People just don't do it for whatever reasons. While you're looking through that thread pay attention to Vergie. If the lottery has a security team watching people, I'd hazard a guess Vergie has a security division named after her....yeah....the Vergie unit! But to recap what all this was about...... States started putting ti

That's quite an intense post with all those uppercase words and exclamation points. Not every state does everything the same. Here once xx:45:00 occurs anything printed will be for the next draw date. Having a store ID number and barcodes for verification does not eliminate the reasoning or possibility that also having the time it was processed printed on the ticket is also a layer of security and verification. Since no one seems to have the perfect answer for you I think you should contact your
