Mega Millions 2008
MegaMillions ticket sales are down compare to this recent 330 jackpot. If this thing shatters the record jackpot of over 390 or not, 220 is large. Throw out the odds calculator and consider Mega a raffle game, someone going to do some big-boy-toy shopping.

Which gives me a better chance of winning a lottery?
YES there is a BIG difference MATHEMATICALLY!!! The 100 being equal to 50x2 or 10x10 or any other is a mirage...they are not equal oddswise.. Examples to show the ODDS inequality: (I know the examples may not make sense sometimes profit wise but the are intended ONLY to show the odds inequality comparison) Pennsylvania Pick 3 nite: Which is better? (trying to hit it straight only): case 1 (Extreme casE): playing $1000 in 1 drawing or 1 number for 1000 draws? playing $1000 in on

Which gives me a better chance of winning a lottery?
NO matter what game you play (P3, jackpots, etc) theoritically 100 tickets for one drawing gives better shot...because you cut down the maximum odds by 100 vs 50...but of course you can win with a dollar also..i hope you'r not throwing $100 at the mega next week...it only takes a dollar...and of course you can keep playing with $100 all the time and never hit..

Weird Lottery
I sincerely hope you and everyone here on the LP who is hoping to hit the big one gets to have that dream come true. Really I do. I'm a realist and think that the odds are rediculously high. For every person who wins a JP, multitudes lose. That's just me. I know a negative attitude is bad for karma so I'll leave it at that. Personally, I'm ahead of the game playing the p-3, and loving it. I do occasionally play for the big one, but I know that the odds are the reality. They dictate what is

Editorial criticizes N.J. Lottery privatization proposal
Maybe this site will reach many more people that make the difference in these decisions., Or help to influence the ones that make the decisions. After all, LP is the seventh site on google results of the word lottery. And as research confirms, if you're not part of the top ten, you're not part of it at all. The more places this gets posted and read, the better your odds of getting the word out.

Brainstorming for *Key*(Power Numbers)
Key numbers, are numbers that are hot and feel in your gut that are going to drop on the next draw. Like tonight (PBall), I think 11 in the WBS will drop because of its frequency over the past 10-15 games, and if it doesn't drop c'est la vie, also 8. The power ball # to me is key #1 and I will stick to a cold freezing PB# not hit in a long time like 33 for pball on every line because the key to hitting the jackpot is the Powerball #. You can't contemplate this stuff too long, my head h

A QP Ticket: 5 Picks + 2 SAME Number Sets
Very strange. Perhaps one of our mathematical people could tell us what the odds are of a RNG generating the same five numbers two lines in a row. ???? They must be astronomical/

The Stench of DISGUST in PA: a Cash 5 Travesty
so much for those calling for boycotting the new pa cash 5 with 43 balls...They have had a jackpot winner 4 times in a row with the game nearly twice as hard to win...participation in the game seems to be about the same or even slightly more...that buy 5 get 1 free ticket is working apparently...the second prize winnings are very low compared with 5,066 odds.

Florida Jackpot Plus
I'm likely a day late and always a dollar short, but today I noticed the flyer for the new Florida 6/53 Jackpot Plus offer. This feature lets you add one or two dollars to your Play or QP to increase the prize by $10 million for a dollar or $25 million for two dollars. Frankly I don't see how this can pay for the amounts offered (what's the odds of the winner having paid the extra?), but welcome the decision in light of some other games raising the cost of a ticket to $2.00 I'd be ha

Gap Strategy - Taking Chances
Has analyzing numbers with your methods improved your odds of doing better than a match3? The best I've done is a match4 and that only happened once when I hit a 4+0 playing MegaMillions. I usually play 10-20 lines.
