Matrix change: Powerball to get much harder to win?
The odds are already so high that I just don't see the point of changing the matrix. If they do it will be even harder to win any prizes, let alone the jackpot. I'm lucky to even hit the Powerbll itself and get a few bucks back every now and then. Knowing me though, I will probably still continue to buy a couple tickets each drawing.

Miss Kitty's Pairs wk. 11-25
Just a note to GA players.... pure odds have been out 11 days now. Over the past year there have only been longer 5 times (~5.6%). So you KNOW they're coming soon! The higher tiers are showing a lot of them doubles... and GA still owes us a double off the 752 trigger midday yesterday. Sounds too easy, right!

The Implications of Cracking the Code..
I don't believe there's a code that can predict the next numbers to be drawn during a random drawing but I do believe there may be patterns in past drawings that once identified could help one reduce the number pool and have all the winning numbers most of the time resulting in better odds of winning something. Many have tried to find such patterns, some even using AI software but I'm not aware of any one who has. I think the word code is being confused with the word patterns in this thread.

The Implications of Cracking the Code..
There are 1,000 possible outcomes for 3 exact digits every time a drawing is conducted. It's even possible to draw the same 3 digits two days in a row (I've done that) but the odds were 1,000 to 1 each time. ...observation...better judgement... has nothing to do with it.

Holiday Raffle Games
I know the odds are better, but I agree that $20 for one ticket is pricey. If Idaho had done that, I may have only bought one or two tickets. I guess I can be glad that it wasn't $50 a ticket.

My $35Million
Mech2009, according to my profile, I average 3.9 posts a day, but I can't imagine putting all that effort into one of them. Yikes. You have quite an imagination.
I hope it is just a fantasy, because I would tell anyone who spends $3,000 on one lottery game to get psychiatric counseling.
Regarding what you will or won't give your wife -- a prenup is fine, but you went overboard. Once you give something away, you don't take it back or you are lending it, not giving it. There's nothing

Ball Drops vs. RNGs - Fuel For the Fire
Pumpi - I'd take 3/1 odds any day of the week. Put $20 on that number, it pays $60, it adds up. Problem is, in a small town like Wymore, you get noticed REAL QUICK when you do that. And why do you think they would get away with it if it was Pick 3 and not Keno ? I think Keno would be much easier to get away with, 80 numbers to dicker with, less noticeable.

Holiday Raffle Games
I'm undecided if I'm going to play ours, 20 dollars is an expensive ticket and while the odds are better than anything else, its still 20 bucks. In CA they are awarding (5) 1 million (50) 10k and (500) $2008.00 prizes. I think if I get a lotto win and tickets are still available I'll buy one, if not oh well, they still do a Fantasy 5 draw everyday.

Financial Planner? Here's one...
With the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot at 1 in 146 million you would need to buy a ticket every minute, 24 hours a day for 278 years to have an even chance of winning.
Want a better idea? Invest that same $10 a week throughout your normal working life (20 years old to 65 years old) in a good growth stock mutual fund, and you will have $1 million.
