What would you do in this situation?
you have a point because the clerk in carolina said the lady hugged her but they both won 200,000 but if it was your scenario then i dont think you would want to hug someone who won 25million dollars with your numbers. you would know they printed out a duplicate because the odds are slim that someone went to the same lottery terminal the same day you did around the same time and picked the same number you did so you would know something happened even if they didnt admit it to the lottery office

NY Lotto Extra game
Does anyone here play the NY Lotto Extra vs. playing the standard lotto? Seems like an extra $1 per play to get one more number does not do alot to better my odds...anyone have any hits or swear by playing that extra buck?

$5 Powerball Quick Pick Oddity
As long as one number is different in each set, your odds go up, period. One time I had a $10 QP for Powerball with Powerplay with 3 of the same red balls, and that happen to be the one that was drawn with a 5x multiplier. That was a quick $45 return on my $10. Don't count your loosings before the drawing...

$5 Powerball Quick Pick Oddity
One guess is as good as another. Either way, by buying 5 sets, you have improved your odds from 1 in 146,107,962 to 1 in 29,221,592.

Kansas Lottery sets sales record
I hope the winner steps forward to take cash option in Hot Lotto. I think Hot Lotto sales are increasing despite lower odds than Powerball.

Statistics question
What are the odds where a Mega Millions winning numbers [5/56+1/46] can become a California Super Lotto Plus pick [5/47+1/27]? How about Powerball winning numbers [5/55+1/42] to become a California Super Lotto Plus pick [5/47+1/27]

Futility
To participate in a lottery where the odds of winning a jackpot are 1:145M and have a feeling of futility because you don't win the top prize doesn't make sense. Any one who plays in such a lottery can reasonable expect to never win a jackpot even if they play the game their whole life, that's a given with this type of game.

Hoosier Lottery
Actually a free QP is not the equivalent of a dollar, it costs the state about 15 . The odds of the state having to give you a prize for that QP are 1:6.3 and that's most likely to be another free QP.

Futility
Due to the way the question was posed, I chose to vote: Yes. If a person doesnt go thru those doubting periods and question the validity then they arent playing with desire. Without the desire to win , it would be robotic and boring. I seriously keep it simple...I either win or I don't. Its not a matter of ratios and overwhleming mathmatical odds. Its either I got the pattern or I don't. I'd like to *beleive* my ticket has some winning combinations. I actually *know* that they probably do
