What is your lottery income?
You'll get a chance to try that with the new Ohio game Ten-OH! , the odds of matching nothing are 1:22 and it will pay $3.

Statistics question
I didn't find a missing zero in my calculations, so I added the routine to my odds calculator which allows me to make other calculations about regular lotteries that are useful also. I'll never have to calculated it by hand again.

Futility
Do you think we're all just wasting our time and hard earned money hoping to hit that big Kahuna?
No, never.
We all play lotteries and that's all we as a group have in common. If someone else feels he's wasting his time and money playing it's doesn't concern me because it has no effect on what I do.
If I was a farmer planting a crop and the odds of ever making a profit was 1:3 then I would consider that futile, but when I play to win a PowerBall or MegaMillions jackpot I know t

Are scratch tickets a total waste?
Absolutely not. They have the highest payout percentages and the best odds, which means, on the average, you'll win more money, more often, than with on-line games. The only drawback would be the fact is that everything has been predetermined, but if you have an instant game that comes from the terminal, that's taken care of too. And even though it is predetermined, nobody knows the results until the ticket is scratched. So go ahead and scratch, just don't go crazy.

Hoosier Lottery
Thanks, Jim. I'll admit to playing Devil's advocate a bit on this one. I'm not sure where you're getting the info on the free tickets, but it sounds like you're adding them to the number of tickets sold , which I'm not doing. I'm estimating ticket sales with the odds and the number of winners at the lowest level, which accounts for the number of free tickets. For my purpose the free tickest were sold, because htye're among the tickets that are in play, and that determines how many winners ther

Pick-3 Positional Frequency
I use positional frequency, but I weight each position. Position 1 gets a weight of 5 points, position 2 gets a weight of 3 points and position 1 gets a weight of 1 point. I do this to give credit for digits that pop first or second since the odds are a little higher against them. I usually look back 14 days and I mix midday and evening draws together. Good luck!

Hoosier Lottery
What's the surprise? If they gave out 160,000 prizes with odds of 11 in 7.31 it's safe bet that they only sold about 1,170,000 tickets. Even if none of the combinations were repeated there would be better than a 90% chance that nobody would win. A rollover is what should be expected.

Idea for Florida Lotto.
Nope. I've been playing Lotto for over 12 years and I've never even gotten 5/6. So, instead of spending $16 (I buy 4 tickets twice a week) on 8 slips, I'd rather lower my odds by purchasing 4 extra tickets instead if I chose to increase my spending.
