The way I see it, it's not a matter of increasing your odds of hitting. It's a matter of decreasing the odds against you. The odds will always be in the favor of the lottery itself. No different than in a casino.
And as far as systems go, there are many, many systems here offered by members on LP that are valid systems. Do they hit all the time? No. Do they work for awhile and go cold ? Yes. The nature of the lottery is that there is no one answer for your question. (or if there is s

did you play the raffle in your state?
I have not bought a ticket for any of these raffles, nor do I plan to. Have you seen the odds of winning anything on these things? And for $20 a pop? No thanks.

It's a gas- "oline, I mean"
$4.90 a gallon sounds very bad, the real question should be, how much do you get paid, compared to the south?? just curious.... ky gas is $2.89 for the cheap stuff... another thing our gas prices change almost daily odds pretty good the numbers coming together sometimes.... good luck

can you get any closer than this on the prediction board
Think of it this way. You're odds will not only be improved simply because of your system now, but also because you can play a lot more sets on the next drawing.

NJ lottery winner has 2 weeks to claim $19M jackpot
Umm...yeah, if it was a choice between annuity payments or nothing, I think I'd settle for the payments. Odds are though that this ticket will go unclaimed. It was probably thrown away a long time ago.

Kentucky Lottery's new '3 Line Lotto' starts next Monday
At $2 a ticket and needing to get 18 numbers right, I will not be playing this game. The odds are greater than hitting the powerball and I haven't done so well in that game.

Why Quick Picks win...Hint: It's *NOT* what you think, folks!
I think the only conclusion one can come to from this thread is a lottery player is lucky to win a big prize regardless of how he picks his numbers. Buying QPs is easier and less time consuming but if a player enjoy picking his own numbers then he's getting an additional thrill similar to that of a gambler trying to beat the house odds.

Why Quick Picks win...Hint: It's *NOT* what you think, folks!
Many here have observed the oft repeated assumption that QPs win because the majority of PURCHASES are QPS, and as such most of the eventual winners are QP users. I have a different take. Nobody wants to admit ( I think that drives the prejudice against QPs) that having control over your selection matters in reducing the odds of winning not a whit. Nobody wants to think that a person who follows draw history cannot even come close to the mindless terminal, because of the illusion of controlling

DE Scratch-Off Slip-Ups
I actually like, nay I love, games with low top prizes because they, typically, put all of the prize pool into prizes that are winnable. However, I have no idea how winnable DE's tickets are becuase they don't list the odds, which is beyond bogus.

what is your favorite lottery game and why?
Whoa. Good question. For me, a game is good if the overall odds of winning are low and the prizes are fair.
