Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
Lotteries need to try proven concepts of creating volume sales to bring in revenue. Prime examples are Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, Sam's Club and BJ's wholesale mammoth daily sales, continuing to expand locations by offering discounts ... make their money through volume sales of excellent very desirable goods. Stores which don't go belly up. Lowering odds (hopefully back to original game matrices) effectively creates a fire sale on tickets which will multiply sales exponentially and hold

% of Lottery Players That Make a Profit
Good info Rjoh!, in P3 50cents for every $1 spent is the odds factor stacked against anyone who places the game and the payout is out is 500 for a $1 bet with 1000 #s.... If the payout is 600 for a exact hit, then it would be 60cents for every $1, now it is probable on a given day that a $100 winner is equivalent to 199 players who got nothing.

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
I agree with Konane, tg636 and many others. Lower the matrix. I mean, even a state game with 1:22 million odds is tough to win. Sometimes I wish I wasn't addicted to my 4 Lotto cards that I play twice a week. Right now any more would be way too much for me to spend, and I'd rather play a game with better odds. If I won $100,000 or even $10,000 I'd be thrilled. I also would like to see higher second third prizes. A few weeks ago I got 3 numbers and won $5.50 and in over 12 years I

did you quit playing when.....
I quit when I read that the 75 million dollar powerball jackpot won in NC, in reality, is a 24 million dollar payday. This women beat the odds to win, and gets less than a third of the jackpot. It's no wonder people are quiting.

AMAZING: Minnesota man wins back-to-back lottery jackpots
The MegaMoney here is 5 numbers. First 4 numbers from 1 to 44 and the MegaBall 1 to 22 Odds are 1:2,986,522 according to the FL web site Last week there was a news article announcing a woman won it a second time (not in a row, but still, twice with those odds!!) She won $2M on Jan 30 and split a jackpot (winning $320K) in 1998. Maybe I'm playing the wrong game! But I really think, in most cases, it's just being at the right place at the right time. (they were quick picks)

AMAZING: Minnesota man wins back-to-back lottery jackpots
The odds are are almost atronomical... The odds of winning once are 1 in ... (31!)/((31-5)!)/(5!)=169,911 So twice in a row is...169,911 x 169,911 28,869,747,921 Hmm...about 1 in 28.87 billion
