He didn't win it in the official lottery, some private citizens decided to unload their house through a raffle. They got a lot of attention out of it and probably turned a pretty profit.

I googled that raffle. It was very interesting their website and seeing folks from all over winning $1 million as well as luxury cars. Some Americans were in the mix too. The photographs are taken from far away, hard to discern who's who.

Bleudog read the article wrong. Mea culpa it was from the airport in Dubai!! I'm curious though, can raffle tickets be purchased throughout Dubai or just the duty free zone in the airport???

???? Everyone???? That was one person and one post and suddenly the poster is speaking for everyone??? Mega Millions is setting a new record and that record is most number of rolls before the jackpot is won. If they are going to give it away quarterly or every six months or every year then they should convert it into a raffle with 1,2, or 4 draws per year! Lucky for Life should be a raffle too because they seem to want to award only 1 jackpot per year so I don't play LFL

Looks like we are in the same boat, today I bought 9,10,11,12 on the Fablous 500, won $5 on ticket 12 so I bought 13, it hit $20 so I bailed went back to the store just before and ticket 14 was a $500 winner. On top of that the $20 I won back I played tickets 12,13 on Price is Right and was told ticket 14 was $100 winner. I said that's it I'm done and went and bought 2 tickets for the Millionare Raffle.
