Possible disturbing news
You are forgeting something. We do not know what the matrix will be. Considering it is possibly replacing a pick 5 game, it may be a pick 5 game. They may have just opted to go with a prize that fits the odds.

Possible disturbing news
Exactly how I feel. I mean $2,500 after taxes isn't a lot of money...$5,000 would make a much bigger impact on my life. However, it depends on the odds too. I'd rather win $2,500 a month than nothing at all chasing the big jackpots, something I've done for way too many years.

Pencil and Paper Jackpot Calculations
I don't PowerPlay because it's too tough to win anything. With a game that has odds as high as Powerball, I figure you should either play for it all or don't play. Playing the extra $1 is like admitting you'll settle for #2.

PB over/under $200 million
I would seriously doubt both will go over 200. Odds are neither will. I've given up on Mega for now but it would be nice if Powerball could clear the $250 mark so I can get tickets. The trip would be more expensive though due to the high price of diesel right now. ($3.5/gal)

WOW, TALK ABOUT ADDICTION: Woman stole $2.3M to buy lottery tickets
Well at least it's a good example to people who spend large amounts per drawing that it doesn't increase your odds, At least if she had bought art with the money the company could have gotten the money back.

What is the probability?
The odds of a combination from 000 to 999 coming up is 1:1000. If that list represents all the combinations of threes to come up so far then it can happen another 800 times in the future.

Mega Millions Not Rigged? Please
I really don't think you HONESTLY believe what you just said. Don't tell me about the odds. Yes on any given draw you can ABSOLUTELY get beat because of the astronomical odds.......however it is impossible for an honest system to beat you every single time when as YOU suggested the person is spending $1000 a draw.....and here is the key the person has cornered a group of numbers in a pattern. At some point that player should hit the 2nd prize. Don't tell me different....because that would be

Mega Millions Not Rigged? Please
I agree. Since there are millions of combinations to choose from, odds are that most people who play the lottery will never win a big jackpot. Instead, when "weird" numbers come out people accuse the lottery of being rigged. If Mega Millions or Powerball happened to be computer drawn I may think so, but there not.

Rolling Cash5 rolls to $184,000
Can't believe that RC5 have continued to roll since this thread started. It's now $434,000 and with odds of winning it at 1:575,757 it has to be at the end of its roll. Good luck Ohioplayers.

Just, Dang it!
i like your answer to guesser. I personally choose not to think so much of how the odds are against me, I like to feel that I'm beating the lottery at its own game no matter how random the #'s are....dunno, I have more confidence and I win more money when I look at things that way...heck, life in general that way
