Five N.C. stores stop selling lottery tickets
I think it's good that stores are opting out on their own, if 7% of their sales isn't worth the effort then they're not selling enough tickets. Stores that small usually don't carry enough cash to pay winning tickets so lottery customers don't return. If North Carolina paid bonuses to stores selling winning tickets, the odds of a store with low sales selling them aren't that good that it would make much difference.

Five N.C. stores stop selling lottery tickets
you can't blame the stores because they really can't make anything.also its a fact that they have real bad odds on the scratch off tickets as it is.i think the whole thing could've been handled better.i'm not knocking north carolina lottery.i would love to play the numbers games if the option to play shows up on betslips.....

Do you really think you have better odds?
It's funny you ask, because I ask myself these TWO questions all the time:
Question 1) Do you think you will ever win the jackpot ?
Answer to 1) - No way. Are you nuts ? I have no chance in hell.
Question 2) Do you think you will ever win the jackpot ?
Answer to 2) - Absolutely. Do you think I'd play it if I didn't think I could win it ?
Back to my logic:
A 'system' you can devise to do many different things, I, for one, will never count on winning the jackpot

I never met a girl form PA that wasn't pretty cute. That's always been a enjoyable experience. The odds musta been on my side.

I Did It Again! My Biggest Yet!
I just beat odds of 20,000 to 1 and won $500 in the $2 Silver 7's game. And on an unrelated note I won $40 in the Daily Number. Wowie-zowie!

Changes in Mega Millions
dvdiva- we just have to agree to disagree- it HAS had runups over 100, 200, 300 mil under this format, so it is simply the luck of the draw........your poll also needs to say don't change at all , to get a true poll. The worse the odds increase, the LESS people will spend, so it has a negative effect on the other side. Don't you care about YOUR chance of winning vs. the Mega Millions game making more money? Geez!

Changes in Mega Millions
No matter what Mega does, it can still get a sting of low jackpot wins. If someone is destined to win, he or she will win regardless of how high the odds are.

Tenn. lottery sales up 18 percent since last year
Powerball states got a bump with the two big pots that came along after increasing the odds, but I bet that's going to come back to bite them since people will now start expecting $100m pots before buying tickets. I have noticed a slow down in the the climb to $100m that wasn't there before those gigantic runs. I myself only by 1 or 2 tickets until it gets above $100m and am spending less overall.

Ohio LOP-how much longer?
Nebraska pick 5 (out of 49) is routinely 75K, so I take my chances and aim for a PB pick 5 (200K), I don't think the odds are THAT MUCH different - when you get right down to it. Just forget 50-55 and play 1-49. And the way PB has been hitting lately, just forget about playing 1-9, and 50-55, and just play numbers between 10 and 49. (and as soon as I say that.........)

When NY Lotto 59 is retired
CASH Only, I think 59 will retire when it reaches 2007. I want to know the differential between the current population of NY versus the current NY Lotto odds of winning a jackpot? I also want to know, was 59 the highest number in NY Lotto history? If not, what's the highest number?
