Powerball vs Mega Millions.
I know mathematician will say it doesn't make sense, but 10 years ago lotteries had better odds with large jackpots. I can remember when Ohio SuperLotto a 649 games had jackpots of $50M+ and when it ended it was lucky to get to $6M+. Could it be that some lottery players got smarter and it's actually harder for jackpots to keep rolling today? Or maybe annuities paid better rates?

Powerball vs Mega Millions.
It's not a state issue. The largest prize ever given out is Euromillions with odds 100 million less than Megamillions but no annuity. The Big Game got really big with a much lower population. Powerball's big killer has been the cap. It most likely would have broken 400 already. It would also be interesting if a large scale game in the US would offer just cash prizes but annuity and bond lawfirms have far more clout in the US than in Europe.

WOW ! winning jackpot system at last!
While 3 of the 5 winning numbers (11 12 15 32 35) were in my number pool, they are were alone in 6 of the 10 lines I played and I didn't even match the odds of matching 2 for $1. I'm going try again tomorrow and increase the lines I play to 20 because the jackpot rolled to $369K. Good luck if you play.

match 5 powerball won twice same person?
Why would you want others rooting for the same numbers? That just means less of the jackpot for you, if you win it. I just do not get players who play fortune cookie numbers for Powerball. What is the point of beating 146.1 million to one odds if the jackpot is split so many ways you can't retire off it?

straights for april 2006
bob27 - You need to keep in mind that there are NO guarantees in the lottery. Odds of winning a P4 straight is 1:10,000. When folks post predictions here, whether in a thread or on the prediction board, they are just that......predicitions. Good luck to you. I hope you grab one of those straights!!

fortune cookies poll
I've never had a fortune cookie with a lottery number, but doubt that I'd choose to play it if I did. By my reasoning, one set of numbers is as good as any other, at least for a lottery with the odds of MM, which is what I usually play. Therefore, I see little point in spending my dollar on a set of numbers with such a high likelihood of multiple winners and necessity of splitting the pot.

PB: quick pick powerball or power play it
The odds are you will not win a jackpot every time you purchase Powerball. More than likely you will lose or end up with a prize from $200 thousand down to $3. So would you like to get $200 thousand or $2 million. I always powerplay my tickets because no matter how many tickets you buy there is only one winning combination. So for me I like the increased prize money.-weshar75

Looking for Powerball Pool Player
There are 86,400 seconds in a day.
In addition, you need to co-ordinate with all 1000 members and make sure there are no redunancies in purchases, and that the field is completely covered. This is not an easy task. It would take months of coordination and months of planning. Once you have covered the field, you need to be aware of what the odds are of there being one or more winner. As the prize gets larger these odds become considerably higher.
Then you have to have statements f

Hello to All!
As a new member I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to all here. I am just starting on this road of understanding and look for guidance from those who have gone before me before I run out of gas. I believe there should be ways to minimize the odds against us utilizing traditional statistics and mathematics, unfortunately both my worst subjects in school. Hope springs eternal in the hearts of men ! And so I embark on this journey with the following prayer
