Powerball lottery sales, starting this morning, going smoothly
I would like games with easier odds and minimum jackpots of $4 million cash after taxes as well, but in reality, no game would sell enough tickets to justify that. If Powerball and Mega Millions got hit every drawing, they'd be out of business, and you can't win a lottery that's out of business.

You probably won't see that post. Nonethless despite the odds I do think someone here might eventually hit a jackpot. There's a lot of bright people here.Jim

Anyone else thinking of Euromillions?
Once again, thank you for a some very enlightening thoughts. I don't play Euromillions either for much the same reasons. I do like the odds and prizes better than our US lotteries, especially the two low number bonus balls, so it has some expectation value for me because it seems more realistic than other lotteries. If I lived in Europe I would be hooked, I'm sure. Thank you. alx

Survey: 20% say lottery is most practical path to wealth
I'm afraid those 20% are right. The odds of making wealth the hard way are actually higher then that of you hitting Mega Millions.Source : My cynical yet practical instincts.

Match 6 lotto
I detest that there is a FORTY-NINE number number field that costs TWO freaking dollars instead of one.But that having been said, you are better off, probability wise, avoiding powerball since the odds are much greater than winning a 6/49 game. Of course, one exception MIGHT be having a very sophisticated way of narrowing the powerball number field to 35 numbers, but then why not just narrow the 49 numbers to 25?

A Better Method for Pick3
I just looked at a visual of this , and the last thing i wrote is not exactly true, that about 1 in 3 times on of the gems will follow. It happens a lot that two or more of the mirrors totals fall together within 7 draws, before a gem$, so the count is still valid, but the 1 in 3 odds are not correct. In fact, i think it rather goes to 1 in 8 or something... i will have to check my code again for this counter. Also i noticed that it works some periods, then nothing comes at all. They also like t

Powerball lottery sales, starting this morning, going smoothly
If more people buy PB tickets, especially in OK, the more likely a PB jackpot grand prize will win sooner. In that case, people will win more smaller jackpots before it hits PB records. I think PB should have increased their matrix odds. Instead of 5/55+1/42, I would have suggested 5/55+1/45 or 5/55+1/50.
