2 of 3 (8 Magic # system) - Sad Reality
The overall percentage would stay the same. Sure, you may have days where they win in multiple states at the same time, but in the long run they will still statistacally perform the same. Their odds will never change.

Half way there on the match 6 again!
I was speaking of the powerball by the way. Heck I get far better results with one match 6 play every few weeks than powerball ever week! Soon I am going to have to concentrate on just one better odds jackpot. Probably lucky for life. But powerball gets to be so addicting. All jackpots would do me well, but the powerball truly is life altering. I would prefer that, but I will take any for now.

Texas Lottery to change Lotto game back to 6/54 format
It will be interesting to see how sales drop even further after they switch it back. People don't like the old pick six out of a set of numbers games. I highly doubt they lost all 30% because people didn't like the game. With odds of 1 in 20 million, the jackpot would never grow high.Brad

Why do you play Multi-state lottery?
For the jackpot, but only because the jackpot rises above the single digit million long before a state level can - California doesn't count for me. If I was in CA, I would play MM at $300M+, not before. In NJ, their $2.5M annuity isn't worth the dollar. I'm looking for the $20-50M cash option. Anything below is a waste of a dollar, and anything more reduces my odds of winning.

Why do you play Multi-state lottery?
For me, I want to win $200,000 on PB. It is just something I have aspired to. Trying to win the jackpot seems impossible and infinte amount of luck. It migth seem silly and I know 2nd prize is 1:42 odds to win in PB, but it is why I play. It doesn't make that much difference if the jackpot is 15 million or 100M.

Lotto South- Potential New Draw Days
Somebody should do a comparison of the largest Lotto Virginia jackpot v the largest LS jackpot. To me it just didn't make sense for LS to have the same jackpot odds as one of the games it replaced.

Mega Millions Sets A New Record
Over on the MM probability thread, I developed a modeling equation that I think has a fairly decent fit, showing that the outset of any run of rollovers there is roughly a 1% chance of between 19 to 20 rolls.https://www.lotterypost.com/threads119385p5.htmIt may or may not happen in our lifetimes, but it is certainly possible. Note that there are only 5 or 6 resets in a year, because of the long odds. The probability of 19 or 20 rollovers is probably greater because jackpot fever kicks in more sl

Going to a different town to play....
Also if everyone keeps traveling to the 'popular towns' to play, you are not exactly improving your town's odds of winning. So of course the more popular towns are going to win more then, and your town will remain obsolete.
